CVS: Free Reach Toothbrushes Even Better…

I stopped into CVS today and wanted to update you that the free toothbrushes this week are actually much better than I thought.  I thought the Reach toothbrushes priced at $1.00 were the cheaper crystal brushes, but they are indeed the Total Care Toothbrush that is usually priced between $4-5.

So this is a fantastic deal and is VERY simple for those that are new to coupons.  You should be able to just pay tax on your transaction- so for me that is .08 total for a $5 toothbrush!  These were not marked correctly in my store and I have been hearing from some of you having trouble with this offer so I wanted to give you step by step directions that might help.  I did purchase these myself with the coupon pictured above and had absolutely no problem at all.

So first be sure to print the $2/2 Reach Toothbrush coupon located under personal care.  You should be able to print 2 copies per computer.

This deal is listed in the weekly ad- so you can just double check your weekly ad for the picture below.  If you find this picture in your ad, there is no reason at all that you can not get this offer.

Note the toothbrushes are not pictured but that doesn’t matter.  It is listed as part of the 5/$5.  The ad does say 5/$5 but you do not need to purchase 5.  You can purchase any quantity you like and the price is $1 each.

When I went to my store I was looking for the “Reach Total Care Brushes” as listed in the ad.  I found Total Care brushes but they were priced at $4.79 each.

Since the Total Care toothbrushes are supposed to be $1, I went ahead and took one of the ones priced at $4.79 on the shelf and took it to the CVS Coupon Scanner.  When I scanned it the regular price is $4.79 but if you look a little closer it says 5/$5 with CVS card.  So if you are looking very quickly it is easy to miss that sale price on the second line.  When I go to the cash register and hand over the toothbrush it will be $4.79.  When I give them the toothbrush and also give them my CVS card and they hit total, the price drops to $1.00.

And this is the final step.  I purchased (2) toothbrushes and that was all the store had available.  So the fantastic thing about CVS is that you can get a raincheck if your store is out and they have no expiration date!  Use it at any time that is convenient to you.  That is one of the brushes that I purchased and at checkout I asked for a raincheck.

I always like to make certain the raincheck is filled out correctly- so the cashier did write down “Reach Total Care Toothbrush”, the price it is on sale for $1.00 and the quantity that I wanted- which is 2 more.  The next time you shop, you can take that raincheck up to the register and as long as your coupons haven’t expired you can still get these for free!

If you do not like to shop at CVS, your other option is to price match at Walmart or Target.  Keep in mind these are going to be $4-5 toothbrushes so you might get a little flack from the cashier- but the ad does say “Reach Total Care” so as long as the ones your grab are Total Care you should be able to use your coupons and get them free!

See the Walmart Price Matching policy here and the Target Price Matching policy here.

Don’t forget to get your free floss at CVS this week as well!

I finally got my raincheck used for the finish detergent liquid for $3/per bottle. It was normally about 6. NICE! So as a result we are really stocked up in the house at least for dishwasher items. 🙂

I am VERY new to this and want to say THANK YOU so much for expalining this to me like you did. I have a couple of questions though…if I go to CVS and dont have a CVS card will they give me one? Also, I dont have the CVS ad, do they usually have one at the front of the store like most stores do nowadays? Thanks again!

I was wondering something about the Walmart coupon policy. I have catalina coupons that printed from Walgreens for $2/2 Reach total care toothbrushes. However, they do say manufacturer coupon. Above the bar code they say “redeemable at Walgreens” but it doesn’t say ONLY Walgreens… would I be able to price match the CVS ad and then use these catalina coupons as well?

Ashley yes and yes. You can also get the ad online at CVS.com to be certain and just enter your zip code to see the one for your city. I recommend getting the Extracare card in store as you have it immediately and it just takes a second. Be sure you click that link to learn about the coupon machine because sometimes you can get some fantastic coupons and you want to hit that machine every time you shop!

I got the same tooth brushes for free as well, and they gave me a rian check as they only had 3 in stock. Wonderful deal.

the assistant manager at my store offered to substitute the item 🙂 they scanned the individual toothbrush that was available (reg. $4.79) twice for each double pack. and I was able to use my coupons to get them for free!

I tried to do this at my CVS and they wouldn’t let me. They only had the 2 pack for $6.49 or so, and she wouldn’t substitute it for $2. When I asked her, she even asked if I had just sent my husband in (which I hadn’t) because a guy just had asked for the same deal. I was really bummed because it sounds like a great deal and I had the coupons ready to go!

So then I went to Walmart to price-match and they don’t carry Reach toothbrushes – Ugh! A little frustrating, but I will keep trying on other items 🙂

I had also grabbed 2 Reach Toothbrushes Total Care (also said multi-care I believe) They rang up at the register for $4.79 and also at the price scanner. Manager said they were not included and he put them back. boo!

  13. Charlene says

    04/21/2011 at 3:39 PM

Shelly they will be $4.79 unless you give them your CVS AND they also hit total. If you just hand them the toothbrushes they won’t be able to show the price with card- it will ring up at the retail price.

ahhh, i just went and saw these priced like that and didnt want to hassle with finding the scanner to make sure… i have to go back since they overcharged me anyways so i will be getting these, thanks!!!

Sigh… Hubby had the same problem with the floss. I can’t wait until this freakin’ broken leg is healed and I get to do the shopping again. He gives up too easily and never thinks to ask for a rain check. 😉 Intentional incompetence. HE can’t wait for me to the shopping again too. LOL

Hey can u list the upc code cause the only one I found scanned $4.79 at the scanner nothing like the extra in the pic when I went Sunday? Thanks

Leslie did you look for Total Care toothbrushes? And you made sure to carefully watch the scanner to be certain it said $4.79 on the top line and 5/$5 on the second line?

    The UPC is 381371092758

Another great deal is the Listerine poket packs (the strips that you can put under tounge) are also a $1 this week as stated in the ad. There is also a .50 coupon from one of the weekend inserts (I do not remember which insert). They are usually 4.49 at my store. They would only be .50.

    Hello,
First of all thank you all for all the help. I am new to couponing and tomorrow will be (hopefully) my first time ever using coupons. I have 4 PO of both the reach tb & floss. Had my sister print the second set for me from her computer. anyways, does CVS allow doubling of coupons? Also, would four tb & 1 floss =$5-$5(coupons)=free +tax? Thank you in advance for all the help. 😀

I went in yesterday to do this deal, but my CVS only had two packs of reach toothbrushes. There wasn’t even a spot for the singles 🙁 Bummer!

  22. Charlene says

    04/22/2011 at 8:17 AM

Yes Lissette it should and no they don’t double coupons. Since the items are priced at $1 anyway a double coupon wouldn’t apply if they did.

Don’t forget the SS 4/17 has quite a few Reach coupons as well. $2/2(any toothbrush, floss, etc) and $1/1 Reach by design toothbrush. Not sure if the Reach by design is sold at CVS or even part of the deal tho…
