CVS is running the bonus gift card promotion once again. They are offering an extra $5 gift card for every $25 gift card you purchase.
These are eGift Cards which just means they are emailed to you. You can still use them in store- just print out the voucher once it arrives.
The breakdown for the bonus gift card is as follows:
$25.00-$49.00 | → | $5.00 |
---|---|---|
$50.00-$74.00 | → | $10.00 |
$75.00-$99.00 | → | $15.00 |
$100.00-$124.00 | → | $20.00 |
$125.00-$149.00 | → | $25.00 |
$150.00 | → | $30.00 |
The nice thing is that these have no expiration date. You can use these on pretty much anything online or in store but you can not buy additional gift cards with your voucher. CVS runs this offer every year and I don’t recall hearing any complaints from the previous times I posted this offer.
Head over to CVS.com to have a look.

love this, used it last year.

The only thing I have found annoying with this offer, is that the cashiers RARELY know how to use the egift cards, and either think that its a coupon or they have to get a manager. I did this the first time it came out for $400, in order to buy my prescriptions for the year. I found it SO incredibly annoying to have to get a manager EVERY time I went into the store, that I won’t do it again.
But other than that it worked great..so I guess it depends on the stores in your area!

i am thinking about doing it…but are they just used like a regular gift card. like each time you go in, you can use it to pay and the amount you owe is deducted from the balance. i have just never used a printed gift card before so i don’t know if they track the same as a normal one. and i don’t want one if i have to use it all in one transaction or something like that. thanx for your help!

I’ve used one of these printable gift cards, and it worked just fine. What a great way to stretch our money!
Karen Hiebert says
iill use it get my perscriptions too, it shouldn’t be that bad…right? ;0

I bought one for $150 at the beginning of the year when they ran this promotion and it has worked great. Only problem being that $150 lasts a long time (still chipping away at it) so the paper that you print out can get a little tattered- otherwise I just tell the cashier when I hand it to her that it is just supposed to be ran through like a gift card and things go smoothly.

Wondering if I shd try. But I normally spend so little out of pocket at CVS as it is. . . Hate paying our CA sales tax, so maybe this will take the sting out of that.
Charlene says
EC- thats how I feel too. $25 at CVS seems like crazy talk but then again I bet I spend this much in 2 months. Also, it would be nice if you want to stock up on soda or something for summer parties.

I just bought one for $150.I buy a lot of items at CVS for nearly free after Extrabucks but what a great way to get an added bonus. This is the first I’ve heard of this deal. But like the others I spend very little OOP at CVS.
I really need some patio furniture replacement cushions so what a great way to get a deal on it! Plus, I purchased this through Upromise so I got an additional 3% rebate! Plus, the sales count toward your rebate at the end of the quarter.
Win, win, win…

I bought this but just got an e-mail that they are processing it, and the confirmation didn’t say anything about the extra $10 (I bought $50). I am nervous about this – hope it comes through for me. How long is the “processing” taking for others? Seems odd – it’s just an e-card, why is it not immediate?
Charlene says
Mary I think it will be OK 🙂 It was posted right on CVS web site and they do this every year so I think it will be fine.
Mary says
Yep, you’re right – it worked just fine. Just took a little longer than I expected (a little over a hour for the gift cards to come through).
Julie N says
I find nothing on their website about a bonus. Do you have a link?
ecj says
My order is stuck in processing, too. Called cust srvc and they said there was very high order volume last night and many orders are still in processing. She said it should be another 3-5 hours before it is delivered (from 10 a.m. central). So so glad I jumped on this last night! Thanks for posting it.
Charlene says
Julie, I don’t understand your question. Are you asking for a link beyond the one in my post?
Julie N says
When I follow your link, I can order a gift card, but I don’t find any language on the website that says there is a bonus for doing so. I’ve searched all over the site and I’m not finding anything about it.
Ken says
I second Julie. Is the promotion over? There is no verbiage about the promotion. Can you clarify?
Charlene says
The promotion has ended. All the information that I provided in the post was available to read very clearly previously. To avoid having to relay several steps to people, this is precisely how I was able to get the link that is provided in the post:
1. go to cvs.com
2. Click on gift cards at the bottom
They have removed the bonus information so the offer has ended.

I used two times already works great!
