Reader Stephanie passed on a tip to me a few weeks ago and of course I had to go check it out before posting for you guys.
Some Whole Foods stores offer a “Kids Club” for kiddos aged 12 and under. You will need to ask at the customer service counter if your store offers this program but there are all sorts of little perks. The highlight to me was a free snack for the kids each time you shop!
At my store, they did not offer any sort of card (I am going to keep asking for one when I shop) but told me that each child can get any single serve snack item of my choice priced $1.99 or less for free. I was told to mention it to the cashier at checkout.
I believe the free item will vary slightly by store. One mistake I made was grabbing a small box of animal crackers. Those are 2 servings per container- but they honored it “just this one time.” So anyhow, make sure you check the package and confirm it is single serving.
So the next time you shop you might inquire and see if this program is offered to you. I find a snack makes shopping much easier with my girls and I wish more stores had programs like this!
(Thanks Stephanie!)

I love this program that Whole Foods offers! My little one is always to excited to go shopping there now. One thing that you did not mention though is that my understanding is that you have to spend $10 in order to take advantage of the program. My question is if that $10 is before or after coupons.

i don’t think there is a minimum purchase needed. the whole foods in cupertino, CA has same program. my children often choose free large cookie. at safeway grocery store and lucky grocery store in san jose, CA my children get a free cookie at the bakery department.

At the one we go to each child gets 1 piece of fruit. I don’t think there was a purchase amount required.
