Here is my plan for the week- I just got the new issue of Taste of Home magazine and there are so many good recipes this month!
- Pork Loin and Cheese Topped salad (from Taste of Home)
- Slow Cooked Carnitas (from Taste of Home)
- Artichoke Mushroom Lasagna (from Taste of Home)
- Grilled Chicken and Roasted Honey Gold Potatoes
- Turkey Pasta Bake
- Greek Pizza (pepperoni and mushrooms for my husband and the girls)

Oh my word!!! I have that Greek isle pizza in my meal plan for the week too!! I ripped that page right out as soon as I got the magazine! (Drool) ๐
Amy- have you tried using crescent rolls for pizza crust? I have been into these mushroom and fontina pizzas for lunch lately and the crescents are so fast! Why didn’t I think of that before?
No, but that’s such a good idea! I usually make homemade, but I don’t always have time to do that. The mushroom and fontina pizzas sound amazing. I’m obsessed with mushrooms right now.
Hey that is a good idea with the crescent rolls. So do you make them individual pizzas?
The turkey pasta bake looks good too.
Stephanie, I have been rolling out the small tubes that have 4 and 2 of them attached make a nice lunch. Just roll them out and then bake them until they are pretty cooked and then add your toppings and pop them back in the oven to melt the cheese.
Charlene,
Can you share the recipe for the Carnitas & which TOH it came from?
Thanks,
Jen
Jen it is the April/May issue that is navy blue. I will try to get the recipe typed up later this week.
Ages ago (and I mean decades), there was a trendy pizza made from crescent roll crust that showed up at every pot luck/picnic/party. You roll out two tubes to fit a baking sheet and bake the crust. The “sauce” was a mixture of cream cheese and mayo to thin it out a little, seasoned with ranch dressing mix (essentially dip). Spread that on the crust. Top with blanched broccoli and what ever other veges you like (diced tomatoes and black olives make it pretty), then shredded cheddar or jack cheese. Serve chilled. Do not bake.
It was always a hit when it showed up. Then, like all trends, people got tired of it and stopped showing up.
Ohh. That sounds really good Dee!
Okay, Charlene…..I’m back to report that the greek isle pizza was A-mazing!!! I think you will love it if you haven’t already made it! BTW….a lot of the recipes from their magazine you can get on their website. You just have to be a member (which is free). The carnitas one is on there, for whoever was asking. ๐
Cool. I haven’t had a chance to look at that Amy. I am waiting for you to decide to blog again so you can help me on MFA ๐
ROFL!!!! With baby #5 on the way, it’s going to be a loooooong time!!! ๐
