Yeah!  It looks like the $1.25/1 California Pizza Kitchen catalina is printing on the single size pizzas this week!

Those also happen to be on sale for $2.50 AND you can combine it with the $5/15 Frozen Foods coupon!  Holy smokes free pizza!

So here is how it looks:

Buy 1 at $2.50
Use the $1/1 from 2/20 RP
Get $1.25 catalina back
Final Price: .25!
(If you have the $1.25 printable from last week they are free!)

Here is an idea if you have enough coupons:

{Deal Idea}
Buy 6 at $2.50
Use $5/15 Safeway coupon
Use (6) $1/1 coupons
Pay $4 and get back (6) $1.25 catalinas for a $3.50 profit!

If you don’t have that many coupons you can always mix and match with the other Frozen Food items! It looks like this catalina is printing through 3/20.

Thanks Merdy!

Hi. Question? Our add says the pizzas on saleare the 5.5 oz to 9.3 oz. The coupon in the booklet is a $1.00 off 12.6 to 20.4 oz sizes and excludes singles. Is this the deal you’re talking about?

  2. Charlene says

    03/03/2011 at 11:35 AM

No Julie it is not. I didn’t mention the coupon book coupon because it can not be used on that size. Here is the deal:

    Buy 1 at $2.50
Use the $1/1 from 2/20 RP
    Get $1.25 catalina back
    Final Price: .25!

The $2.50 is the single size and the 2/20 RP coupon is for any size pizza. That coupon or the $1.25 printable are the only coupons that do not have a size exclusion.

Oh duh! Thanks!! I was just getting overly excited!! Thanks for your help. 😉

I am excited too 🙂 And you know without coupons it is still good:

    Buy 6 at $2.50
    Use $5/15 coupon
Pay $10 and get $7.50 in cats back! So .41 each!

Charlene, have you tried the deal yet on the singles? I did it on the big ones and did not get my cats. (I called about that today).

  6. Charlene says

    03/03/2011 at 12:07 PM

Kylene- from what I am hearing it seems like this is a nationwide cat. So maybe something was wrong at your store? I would wait to hear from catalina marketing before you try it but I confirmed with a few people + the reader before posting. I am going to try and get over to Safeway this afternoon to test it myself 🙂

Ok I would love to hear how the singles work out for everyone. I get nervous about deals until I test them myself 🙂

Yes the $5/15 is in the weekly ad.

Are these 1.25 catalina coupons specially for pizza or store catalina like 1.25 off future purchase?

  11. Charlene says

    03/03/2011 at 2:46 PM

Mythi, you can click the link for Catalina in the post if you are not familiar with them. If some sort of coupon was printing that was on valid for a discount on one specific product, I would not have posted as I did. If you see reference to Catalina coupons it is safe tp assume that you will actually receive a coupon for a specific amount that you can use to purchase whatever product you feel like purchasing with a few exclusions like alcohol, lottery tickets etc.

I purchased 6 single pizzas for 2.50 each. Then used my coupon for $5.00 of a $15.00 freezer purchase and it worked for me!! I got the $1.25 catalina back for each pizza. So cool! Thanks for all you do!

I went to Safeway this morning and used the coupons and the $5/15 in the weekly ad for the CA pizzas. I noticed as the checker was checking me out that when she scanned the $5/15 it took off a penny. When I checked my receipt, the $5.00 had not come off. I took it to the customer service and they first told me it was only for DiGiornio pizzas but I pulled out the ad and it said for “All frozen foods”. When I showed the customer service person this she agreed that these pizzas were included and refunded me the $5.00. I just thought I would mention it so that your readers make sure it is coming off their receipts. We sure our pizzas for lunch!

  20. Charlene says

Lincy, the booklets can be found in stores and no the coupon in the booklet is for large pizzas. The coupon that I listed in the post is for use on any size.

I’m a bit worried my SW won’t let me use the $5/$15 q’s before my manufacturer q’s. Last year, when SW had the same frozen food promo with the $5/$15 q’s they told me I had to use the $5 after my manufacturer q’s. I don’t want to miss out the great frozen food deals this year. Is there any way I could persuade to let it go through? thanks

Michelle- the coupon policy says plainly that any in ad coupons should be before MQs.

I would call the number on your receipt to complain if you have any issues. They may even sort it out right in store for you.

I’m in Chicago so my version of Safeway is Dominick’s- which I’m noticing most of the deals are very similar, if not exact.

For this pizza deal, the pizza’s weren’t on sale for $2.50 each at my store, they were $5.49 each. But we love this pizza, so any sale is exciting!
Here is how the deal worked out for me:
    I purchased 2 CPK pizzas $5.49 each.
and 2 Frozen Kashi Lunches 2/$6

I used 2 in store coupons for $1 off each pizza
I used 1 in store coupon for $1 off 2 Kashi products.
I also used the $5 off $15 frozen coupon.

    Original total: $17
    After coupons: $9
    I then recieved Four (4) Catalina’s for $1.25 each. Even though I only bought 2 Pizza’s!

I’m new to couponing- I know this isn’t AS good as your deal, but I thought I’d share as I still think this is pretty good 🙂

  25. Charlene says

    03/04/2011 at 12:17 PM

Amanda- Safeway and Dominicks are the same store so you should notice a lot of the same deals. The pizzas that are $2.50 are the little single serve ones. You got the big ones for $5.49 so that is an excellent deal!

Can you look at those catalinas and see if they all 4 say thanks from California Pizza Kitchen? I wonder if Kashi is triggering cats too?

  26. Amanda J says

    03/04/2011 at 12:24 PM

Yes- all 4 say Thanks from CPK.

I had this happened to me today I was so bummed 🙁 I specifically gave her my Von’s coupons first and she scanned them all EXCEPT for the $5/15 coupon and put it aside. And she proceeded to scan my MQs. and no $1.25 CATS printed for my 3 single CPKs. But I got the $2 CAT for the Betty Crocker fruit snacks.
