Safeway Deals 3/2-3/8

03/02/2011 By Charlene 31 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!

Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway!

My Safeway ad came in my morning Washington post- but I don’t see the Safeway Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast $1.67/lb??? Is that correct price?

  2. tiffany says

    03/02/2011 at 9:11 AM

It looks like the 10oz Cinnamon Cheerios are part of the save $4 wyb 4 items – great time to use those 1.25/1 coupons!

  3. Charlene says

    03/02/2011 at 9:56 AM

Jessica, The prices on produce and meats in particular will be different for each region. You will want to double check your ad for every deal because they won’t be exactly the same for each city. Those prices are based on the Nor CA ad that I get.

  4. Lisa G. says

    03/02/2011 at 10:09 AM

Charlene, do you have any idea if you can use both paper P&G coupons and the ones you load onto your Safeway card, or does only one count?

  5. Sarah H. says

    03/02/2011 at 11:05 AM

I did the frozen foods promo on Monday. If I do it again, do you think it will work if I hand them the $5/15 in-ad coupon?

    I went yesterday and bought
3-Safeway Select Ice Creams for $1.99 each (coupon in frozen booklet)

    3- Tunas $.99 all three (just 4 u program)
    2+ lbs bananas $.49 a pound

Grand total for all minus $5 off was $8.49!! That cashier was really impressed I think t was 69% savins! Walked out with 4 bags of stuff for less then $10

  7. Charlene says

    03/02/2011 at 11:11 AM

    Yes I think so.

  8. Tony H says

    03/02/2011 at 12:29 PM

The $5/$15 frozen food coupon says that frozen meat and seafood are excluded. Do you think it’ll work anyways (I saw you listed some)? I kinda want to try! =)

Btw, thank you so much for all that you do!!!

  9. alyssa says

    03/02/2011 at 12:40 PM

I also saw the OreIda sweet Potato Fries 2.99 + $3 off wyb 3

    3- OreIda sweet potato fries (3-$1 off + $3 wyb 3)
    1-Tyson Chicken 6.99 ($1 off)
comes to 15.96 before Q’s and discount

    total after= $3.96

my question is with the $3 wyb 3….would that be counted before or after?

  10. Charlene says

    03/02/2011 at 1:28 PM

Alyssa is this a new promotion? I posted this previously but the signage at my store said it ended 3/1.

  11. Charlene says

    03/02/2011 at 1:32 PM

No Tony I think you are right- it does say excluding meat and seafood. It sure makes me wonder when they say excluding meat and show a package of Tyson Chicken on the front 😛

  12. alyssa says

    03/02/2011 at 1:43 PM

oh darn…I was there yesterday…I didn’t read the fine print. there goes that deal =(

  13. Leah says

    03/02/2011 at 2:34 PM

I got some of the Charmin TP (24pk for $9.99) with the $3 e-coupon and was happy to see a coupon book inside for I think $25 worth of coupons. It was advertised on the side of the TP wrapping. They are all P&G coupons and my favorite is the $1 off Dawn Hand renewal. Free at Rite Aid in the near future I’m sure!

  14. kathy says

Better Oats oatmeal is on sale at Safeway for BOGO. There is also a BOGO coupon available at:
    http://www.betteroats.com/taste-facebook.php
so I got 2 free today! The coupon scans fine, but says $2.19 max but the cashier entered the full price for me, which was $3.39.

  20. cathy says

    03/02/2011 at 11:43 PM

    today i shopped at safeway
4 morningstar farms products $3.99 each
-$3 when you buy 3 morningstar farms coupon

  21. Charlene says

    03/02/2011 at 11:47 PM

I am doing the same Cathy! I eat those all the time 🙂

  22. merdy says

    03/03/2011 at 10:37 AM

    Used $5 off freezer coupon
    Bought (2) Ortega taquitos @ $5.49
    (2) Personal CPK pizzas @ 2/$5

    Used BOGO Ortega coupon
    (2) $1 CPK pizza coupons

Paid $3.49! The best part is an unadvertised CAT printed for the CPK, I received (2) $1.25 CATS making my total $.49

  23. Charlene says

    03/03/2011 at 10:54 AM

Oh I was wondering if the personal pizzas worked! Awesome!

  24. Trish says

    03/03/2011 at 12:48 PM

Can anyone confirm that the Cinnamon Cheerios are part of the Save $4 WYB 4 items?

  25. monica says

    03/03/2011 at 4:02 PM

    Charlene,

Do you know if you can use the $5 off $15 frozen and a $10 off $50 purchase? I got one in the mail with a bunch of free item coupons on the back (pasta, sauce, cheese, etc)

  26. Charlene says

    03/03/2011 at 5:19 PM

Hmm. I would think so Monica. You want to be sure to give the $10/50 first. And pick cashiers wisely 😉

  27. Nicole says

    03/04/2011 at 12:51 AM

Trish, the cinnamon cheerios are a part of the buy 4 save 4 promo. I got two yesterday for .24 each (I had the $1.25/1 printables from awhile back).

  28. Liv K says

    03/04/2011 at 1:53 AM

I just got back from Safeway in Fremont, CA. I went in to buy one pizza and see if the cats print. $2.50 CPK Single Serving Pizza – $1/1 MQ = $1.50 paid. No catalina printed. 🙁

  29. Charlene says

    03/04/2011 at 8:25 AM

Liv just click the catalina link in the post and you will find directions to call and request your cat. Sometimes the answer is as simple as a machine being out of paper.

  30. Krystal says

    03/05/2011 at 4:53 PM

Can we use the $5/$15 coupons more than once or is it one per card?

  31. Catherine says

    03/06/2011 at 5:16 PM

I’m in Sacramento area. This is what I found:

if you buy 4 fruit snacks, you will get a $2 cat
a new cat will print for $1.50 off 3 “character” fruit snacks – scooby doo, spiderman etc.

so I bought 3 shaped snacks and 2 roll ups and then used the $1.50 off 3 cat with the .50/2 newspaper coupon and I received a $3.00 catalina back again. this will continue to roll (at least it did for me – 3 times)

So really great deal if you like Fruit Snacks, if not, they are shelf stable so you can donate them to the Food Bank.

Also…. the $5.00/$15 frozen promotion only worked once for me when loaded onto my club card. if you want to do the deal again, you need to have the coupon from the Safeway ad. In my case, I didn’t have the coupon but I went to CS and they gave me $5.00 in cash.

Also got a ton of catalina coupons yesterday at the store in Carmichael – Starbucks Via, propel Zero BOGO, Ziplock bags, and the Calif pizza $1.25 off….

Hope this helps someone out there….
