I spotted a $10 off coupon for (1) 11.5lb bag of Chef Michael’s Dry Dog food in the 3/27 SS insert. I just happened to have a pic buried in my phone of a gift card deal at Target. According to the sign on the tag, the promotion is running through 4/2.
Get a $5 gift card when you buy a 11.5lb bag of dog food and 4 cans of wet food.
Buy (1) 11.5lb bag dog food at $17.99
and Buy (5) cans of wet food at .87
Subtotal: $22.34
Use $10/1 coupon from 3/27 SS
and use $1/5 wet dog food coupon from 3/27 SS
Pay $11.34 and get a $5 gift card back! The net price is $6.34!
**Keep in mind I took this picture a few weeks ago so hopefully nothing has changed in store and they do honor the promotion through 4/2!
UPDATE: I did this already and it worked perfectly!!

does anyone have experience with chef michael’s dog food? it is good deal but still more expensive compared to pedigree this week in target. do you think it worth money to buy this more expensive brand?
KIMBERLY says
@Tereza……our dogs eat only Eukanuba and it has less fillers & more nutritional content so you don’t have to fed them as much. They are healthier dogs and have beautiful coats!! But, as a side not I do pick up dog food that is a great deal and donate it to area shelters.

Tereza, I look at it like cereal. I think something like Pedigree is going to be similar to Fruit Loops. If you can afford to step up to a better food, I would. Just read the ingredients on the back. I bought the Chef Michaels because it seemed to have pretty good quality ingredients.

This is a great deal, thanks for posting Charlene.

Hi Tereza,
I’ve been recently visiting and researching a non-biased dog review site called dog food advisor – they rate dog food from 1 star to 5 stars – both Pedigree and Chef Michael’s dry dog food received 1 star. Based on that, I wouldn’t say it is worth the extra money – but that’s up to you and what the ingredients say to you – however, you do get the extra canned food which is a good deal.
On a side note, Kim, I’m so glad you’re donating to shelters but you do have to be cautious about donating dog food (dry) – many shelters use a specific food and as you know switching up a dog’s diet will literally make them sick. In my experience however they’re so grateful for ANY brand of canned cat food – always at the top of the need list @ shelters!! 🙂
Charlene – I think you said it very well! 🙂

Thanks so much for the heads up! It’s great food with premium ingredients; meat being the first main ingredient verses rice or corn. I have been feeding this brand to my older dog because of her fragile teeth, and this is the best deal around.
I’ll be going today.

matt thats what I saw. I only looked quickly but it said beef and soysomething as the first ingredients so I thought that seemed good.

My Sunday paper only had a $3.00 off coupon. I am interested in getting several $10 ones, where did you find them. I have a chocolate lab that is in love with this food!!!

Trish,
This post is from March 26 of 2011 so unfortunately the $10 coupons are no longer available.
