Target: Frozen Foods Promo Update

02/20/2011 By Charlene 19 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

This is the strangest promotion ever at Target and I think I am going to head over to another store to see what I find.  The ads are different this week- so it is very important that you check your local ad at Target.com.  Some areas got this in their ad which is what I based my matchups on.  Buy 6 frozen foods items and get a free freezer bag (massive yawn.)

But then I checked the ad for Michigan and there you can see no mention of a freezer bag but rather a $5 gift card when you buy 7 frozen food items.

Now the frozen food items are a tiny bit of a yawn BUT apparently people are going into some stores and finding signs that say get a $5 gift card when you buy ANY seven frozen food items.  Now that is just crazy because they have items starting at .85 each!

I did not see any of those signs at my store but I did find a promotion only marked on Market Pantry fries- buy 7 bags at $1.87 each and get a $5 gift card.

So you might just want to check your store and see what you find.  If you do see promotions for the $5 gift card marked- that is like an extra .71 off each item.

So here are just a few ideas for you to check out.  I would LOVE to hear what you come up with- and also if you don’t mind telling us the city you are in.

Smart Ones Entrees $1.80
Use $5/10 Target coupon
and use $5/12 manufacturer coupon
Final Price: $.96 each when you buy 12

(Or try this link for a $4/10 coupon– thanks Wraglets!)

Market Pantry Frozen Veggies $.97 per bag
Use $1/4 Target coupon
Final Price: .72 per bag

Tony’s Pizza $1
Use $1/2 Tony’s Original Crust Pizza, exp. 4-30-11 (SS 02/13/11)
or Use $1/2 Tony’s Pizza printable
Final Price: .50

Totinos Pizzas $1.12
Use .75/2 printable coupon
Final Price: .75 each

Tyson’s Anytizers $2.25
Use $1/1 from 1/23 SS
Final Price: $1.25

Market Pantry Chicken Breast Bites $2.65
Use $1.50/2 Target coupon (any 2 Market Pantry Frozen Chicken items)
Final Price: $1.90 each

So I can’t promise this is working everywhere- there were no signs about this at my store (except the fries) and it was not mentioned in my ad.  If you hit this sale already let us know what you got!

where did you find the $5/12 coupon for weight watcher’s meals? I don’t see it on the site. Also, are those prices based on the $5 gift card?

I live in Wi and just went there and bought 7 bags frozen veggies, a winter hat, the finish, aquafresh toothpaste and the cat treats. After coupons I paid just over $5 and got a $5 gift card back. So it does work for the cheap veggies, and you can use the Target Q for the veggies to make it even cheaper!

Sarah- if you look at the math I left the gift card off. As I said in the post it works out to an extra .71 per item discount if your area has the discount. Not everyone has this sale so the prices are what anyone, at any store should find.

If I click the link in the post for Smart Ones, I can see a large gray button in the center of the screen that says Get Coupon. Is that not what you see?

    Thanks Charlene for your help!

When I click on the link for the Smart Ones manufacture coupon their website comes up with only a $1 off 5 coupon.

Hmm. Weird, it only shows up as a $1.00 off of 5. Did you just print it?

Southwest Florida has this $5 giftcard deal. The best manufacturer coupon for WW Smartones is at http://www.eatyourbest.com/wwmag It is $4 off of 10. THis makes the Smartones .285 cents each AFTER the giftcards. This is truly a shocking deal!! I bought 21 and my friend got 42!

Yup just printed a second copy now. Both times $5/12.

The other link is for a $4/10 coupon which is almost as good.

Mine does the same thing. Only prints $1/5. Could it be only a regional thing?

It’s working in the Chicago area, too, though some of our prices are higher — bought 8 of the Market Pantry veggies today at $1.14 each minus the $1.00/4 Target Qs, so $7.12 with $5.00 back = $2.12 for 8 bags of frozen veggies. Some of the TGI Friday’s appetizers are on clearance for $2.08 — if you find ones over 12 oz (like mozzarella sticks?) use the $4.00/2 target printable.

My store in SoCal had the signs for the $5 GC yet it didn’t prompt to give me one. I asked the cashier about it and she said if it doesn’t prompt that’t it, there’s nothing that can be done. I told her what teh signs said and she said “that doesn’t make sense. That would be getting 7 bags of veggies for $2”

    UGHHH

Just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for the Target deals!! Just got back from Target. My total before coupons was $100.79, AFTER coupons it was $36.10!! I could not be happier (especially since we do not have double coupons here) Thanks again for the deals. Today was a fun day!! 🙂

I like insulated bags…is it decent quality?
Read that Safeway is supposed to have a new Frozen Food coupon book on display starting this week. Might be some nice match ups

I was able to do this deal for the giftcards in Southeast Michigan! I spent $32.68 oop, but I got $25 back in giftcards! I was going to split up my transactions but there was only one lane open so I didn’t. I got a wide range of items from Boca burgers, smartones, chicken, veggies, juice….all for about 22 cents a piece! not too shabby!!!

I headed to Target (in CA) yesterday, no mention of the $5 but did get 2 bags. Oh, well I did very well, so maybe next time.

Thanks so much for all the help! I went to Target yesterday and I had a Weight Watchers coupon from Target that was $5 off 10, which were on sale for $1.80 each. Then I found a peely coupon on one of the boxes for $3 off 10. So I was able to use both coupons and get them each for $1! Plus I got the Free Freezer Bag which is a very nice bag. I saved $48 and only spent $27!

Loving the Target deals! Had my first Target trip today (new to couponing) & spent 8.84 . Got the following….

Jeans- free after $5 Q freezer bag-free, Up & Up panty liners- .12 cents, dental floss- free, Finish Quantum- free, Finish Rinse Agent- .89,6 bags of frozen veggies- 5.94, Toaster Struedal- 1.89

Not a bad first trip! Going back tomorrow to get the GC. They would only give me either the bag or the GC. Couldn’t only buy 7 frozen items & get both offers. Is that correct? I didn’t see any fine print stating this & they had both offers displayed on all the doors. What do ya’ll think?

Colleyville, Texas, Super Target only received 30 bags and they were gone in a flash. This info came from a cashier. What a rip-off.
