I may have missed a posting about this, but I wanted to make sure that everyone knows about the cool doubling “loophole” in the new Safeway Just for U electronic coupons. The Safeway in my city does not double coupons. However, the electronic coupons get deducted automatically, and I can still use my paper coupons. I’m noticing that the electronic coupons are the same discounts as the manufacturer’s coupons currently circulating, so it’s basically a double coupon!
This is really handy when combined with the personalized prices. Between personalized prices, electronic coupons, and paper coupons I’ve gotten a lot of things at MAJOR discounts. For example:
one 4oz bottles of Simply Orange is $3.99 at my Safeway
Personalized Price: $2.90
electronic coupon: $1 off of two
two printed internet coupons of $1 off of 1
Total price for two bottles: $2.80 ($1.40 each)
I saved $108.83 at Safeway today combining all 3 forms of savings.
