Safeway Deals 2/2-2/8

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!

Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway!

I never knew that football could bring me so much joy! I love, love, love that coupon book! What a great week and I had a great week at Rite Aid too courtesy of the same book! Thanks Charlene!

I show that Alexia frozen potoates for $2.99 with an in store coupon, the there is another $1 off Mgf coupon. So that makes them $1.99. Is that a good price?? Found this when I was on just for u program adding coupons!

I noticed when I logged into Just4U this morning that the deals that are listed as being specific to certain days, such as Tostitos only on sale 2/6, have Safeway Superprice Coupons in Just4U. Can I use them any day before their expiration date to get that price? Just wondering because there is nothing listed on the coupon that says it is only good for one day. It only says that it expires on 2/6 (and they all say that, including ones that are for days earlier in the week). Does anyone know?

I learned that if you purchase meat from safeway not in the value pack they will split it and repackage it so the cost is lower and you can get free meat with the coupon from the book.

Not really Jolene. For the other items $1.99 isn’t bad but Target has the sweet potato fries for $1.98 frequently. The other items are usually $2.99 at my Target all the time. So it is an OK deal but not great 🙂

Can I stack Just4U coupons? They have the safeway salsa as a super coupon and they also have the same one as in the Joy of football.
    Will it deduct both?

Kim, I had the same question. My just 4 u was all on there this morning too with no date limitations. Has anyone tried the deals? I need to go tonight. Please let us know.

Shelly, I have heard the butchers will do all sorts of things for us customers. All you have to do is ask. They will marinate and trim and repackage. Too cool.

Charlene, do you ever have deals for SaveMart? Thank you.

Hi, I am new to Safaeway. Can you help me figure out how it works with in ad coupons that has requirement $10 to spend.
Can I only buy two tilamook cheese for $5.99 with in ad coupon or would i have to buy some stuff for $10 in order to get cheese for $5.99.

  10. Charlene says

    02/02/2011 at 5:37 PM

@Tereza- as long as you hit $10 before coupons you should be fine! I think the cheese will be OK. One thing I have done is purchased postage stamps before to hit $10 or if you are really in a pinch just grab a $5 or $10 gift card to Amazon or Target or Safeway. That is another way to hit $10. I usually save up my free item coupons for those occasions as well.

@Tatyana- I used to do them but it is really kind of depressing to matchup because there weren’t many deals. Also the interest level was so low I couldn’t keep investing the time each week. I stopped about 2 months ago and you are only the third person to ask 🙂

Did anyone happen to see if the Barilla plus is included in the sale?? I have sick kids, and dont want to schlep them to the store if its not worth it 🙁 Thanks!!!

I was wondering about the Safeway Frozen Chicken for $1.49/lb. If you load the deal onto the card it says online “Limit 1”, but the ad doesn’t state this. Has anyone successfully bought more than one lb? This would also be my stock-up price Charlene =) CA.. woot!

  13. Jen T says

    02/02/2011 at 10:42 PM

errr please replace “one lb” to “more than one bag” =) Lol..

there is a great deal at safeway this week if you need napkins. Dixie 360 ct. in ad $2.99, use 1.00 off from joy of football. So $2.00 for a huge pack.
You can also use the same coupon for Dixie plates at rite aid with the ad-perk $3/2 if you happen to need paper plates. I’ve always had trouble finding a good price or coupons on these items.

I know not many have asked about SaveMart, but I would be one of a handful taking notes on their deals for the week. I am new to your blog though, so I haven’t seen how depressing they were to match up. I know it’s a lot of work!! (Thanks, btw- for being the only couponing blogger in the area!)

I got a catalina printout this morning: “Get a $10 super reward coupon to use on your next shopping trip thru Feb 14th when you spend $75 or more in a single transaction using your safeway club card.”

I got (I think) a good deal on the large container of Athenos Hummus. Club price: 3.99, used .50 off store coupon from Joy of Football book and $1.00 off Athenos printable. Final: 2.49

Freschetta pizzas: I know you have this listed above, but it’s really fantastic when you see the math: 3 pizzas for 3.99 each, use 3 $1/1 coupons plus get $5 off your order. Final: 3.97 for 3 big pizzas!

My store had tear pads next to the Tostitos–buy 2 bags any Frito-Lays (includes family size Tostitos on sale for $2.49/bag) get a free dip or salsa. After 2 .55/1 coupons for the chips, got dip and 2 bags for $3.88.

Thanks for another great Safeway week!!!

  17. Charlene says

    02/04/2011 at 11:42 AM

Sarah- so the Freshetta is $3.99 before the $5 off? Holy cow I messed that up. I thought it was $3.99 after the $5 off!

  18. Lori says

    02/05/2011 at 7:56 PM

We spent more than $75 tonight, and did not get the catalina. Will be calling on Monday to ask about this… Store in MD.

  19. Charlene says

    02/05/2011 at 8:27 PM

Lori- I have the supplemental ad for tomorrow and I think there was a misunderstanding. The ad I have says Today Only get $10 back when you spend $75- today only is 2/6 and I believe the through 2/14 is when the $10 catalina expires. You didn’t get the catalina because you shopped a day early. Sorry. I didn’t see it so I didn’t post anything about it.

I tried to score on their in-ad coupon deal Friday for the Skippy – 1.59 each, -1.00 each from the manufacturer coupons in the Joy of Football book, and it was a no-go. The manufacturer couposn wouldn’t take – the cashier said she got a “too many coupons” message. So I tried my backup which was save .75 on 2 Skippy I clipped from the newspaper and those worked fine. Stupid Safeway not taking their own stinking coupons. Saved by their own “at manager’s discretion” policy.
