There is a nice sale on Nutiva Coconut Oil again on Amazon. I haven’t tried this product myself but it is almost always the #1 seller in Amazon’s Natural Foods department.  I’d love to hear what you use this product for if you are familiar with it!

According to the comments, others use this on toast, for skin and haircare, cooking ethnic dishes and I think it sounds perfect for baking.

Anyhoo, it is on sale today for $13.54 for (2) 15oz tubs. If you select subscribe and save on the right hand side, the price drops to $11.51 and your shipping is free.

Once your order arrives, you can either keep regular delivery of the product or you can cancel by logging into your account and clicking on manage subscribe and save.  You will have no further obligations.  Note if you decide to keep the service you are not guaranteed the price will remain the same.

I love this stuff–we use it for everything from cooking, to putting on toast, we even use it on our skin and my when my son has a diaper rash– (hence the 2 pack!) lol. I know some people make their own homemade deodorant with it (no aluminum).

Great for diaper rashes on babies, also cradle cap. If you use cloth diapers, this is a safe cream that won’t harm the cloth’s absorbancy.

Supposedly coconut oil is the only healthy oil to cook and bake with. I’m new to coconut oil in the past two years, but it is wonderful. Olive oil is the other healthy oil… but it supposedly becomes denatured once heated, so we just use it on salads, primarily. But, you can use coconut oil for all your cooking… just like you would use any other oil. I saute vegetables in coconut oil (yum!) and do all my baking with it, etc. And, like the other ladies mentioned, it has a variety of other uses as well. Great stuff! For more good reading on coconut oil, go to http://www.mercola.com and search coconut oil. Great information! 🙂

Yep, we use cloth and when my son battled a yeast rash after a round of antibiotics, coconut oil with a few drops of tea tree oil worked great!

It is perfect for high temperature cooking because unlike olive oil it doesn’t go rancid when heated until a much higher temperate. It is a perfect substitute in almost anything that calls for butter for those with milk allergy. I use it to also make cold process soap. It is great on dry skin and perfect for making homemade lip balm and salves. It also has great medicinal properties.

I use it almost exclusively in my baking. It makes awesome brownies and soft granola bars. We are big fans at our house!

I use this for cooking stir fry dishes. It works great as a moisturizer for dry skin too!

I started using this product to help with a thyroid disorder. I do believe that it has helped and I enjoy the product anyway since it is a healthy way to cook. I use it to cook all types of eggs and chicken, also put it in hot tea, yum!

@Beth – when you use it in baking do you just do a substitute straight across the board (1c = 1c)?

I just ordered mine 2 nights ago and it got here today – can’t wait to try it!

I thought coconut oil is one of the unhealthy oils….it is fully saturated.
