Hi Charlene, I’m completely new to this and I’m reading through your site and LOVING the loads of information I’m gathering here. I actually went to sleep last night and dreamed about couponing. I have a feeling this can be come a real sickness. 🙂 One question I had was about the information above. When you write for instance colgate toothpaste .98 and then .35 ss (smart source) 1/2. I get lost at the 1/2 part. I know it refers to the flyer date some how but i’m still a little confused. Could you explain that to me once more. Thanks again for sharing all of this with everyone. You’re a lifesaver!
Tonia- yes there is a tendency to get a little carried away at first 🙂 One thing I will promise you is that every deal comes back around- so just take a deep breath and pace yourself. I literally can not give you a single week for the past several years that something hasn’t been free with coupons so no need to race around everywhere at first.
In the example above that means that the jan. 2nd smartsource insert has a coupon inside for .35 off. If you are new you probably don’t have that one, but for the future you will want to save your weekly inserts. Look on the spine of the insert and it will say the date on it. The cover of the insert will identify which company- Smart Source, red Plum etc…
