LOVE your new graphic! I made this yesterday and it was divine! I think you might like it…..http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/food/recipes/airplane-snacks-mediterranean-pitas/
Do your kids actually eat all of this? I’m curious b/c there are some interesting flavors included in your menus pretty often.
Well my 3 year old won’t eat anything so it doesn’t matter really. I decided awhile ago that we aren’t going to let them dictate the menus 😉 but I do adjust everything. I wouldn’t give them kalamata olives in the greek salad but they will eat tomatoes and they love cucumbers and black olives and I might just give them the tiniest taste of feta. They will eat the pizza- if Addy doesn’t like leeks and potatoes on hers she can just pull those off. I wouldn’t put goat cheese on their side either. So I do adjust things here and there for them but yes they do eat the food. I don’t know what else is weird- they love meatballs, they love rice so the couscous won’t be an issue, pasta is fine…. the carrots and chicken they will eat, hamburgers they love and cauliflower when I put cheese on it and make it creamy they gobble up… Addy won’t eat mushrooms but Maya will be fine with that and Addy loves salad. So I guess not everyone is thrilled with everything but if it was up to me we would all be vegetarians so I just adjust everything a little and try to keep having real food for dinner. What is interesting is if I bring home instant dinners- like bagged foods or microwave meals regardless of the brand- they HATE that stuff. In fact the last time I tried to sneak one of those dinners to Maya she threw it on the ground.
So I make things a little more bland for the babies of course but yeah for the most part they do eat it.
Yes I would like that Amy! Now you are in the hot seat- Amy has the Brady Bunch at home- so do you get your kids to eat stuff like that?
Interesting! Thanks for answering.
My almost 3 yr old will practically eat nothing as well. So irritating.
I wasn’t saying that your menu is weird, btw ;D And I meant that there are a lot of different flavors on your menus in general, not just in this week’s.
Jasmine- my mother only made meatloaf and instant potato buds and stuff. And my husband is the same way. So I think this is an uphill battle with the girls because I want them exposed to more things. But you know with my 19 mo old- she eats nearly anything very happily. I give her different cheeses and all sorts of stuff and she will eat it all- so I want to keep that going. With Adriana even if I made frozen chicken nuggets and box mac and cheese she would have a fit so it is a battle of wills with her 🙂 She usually loves tomatoes and the other night I made caprese and she hurled herself to the floor in a fit. So every night is interesting to say the least.
Hahaha, toddlers…
Yeah, mine loves something one day and then acts like I am trying to feed her acid the next time I give her that same exact thing. It’s always an adventure.
I grew up in a house of spaghettios as well, so I can relate to what you said. I want to give my kids the advantage of good food of many different types, but of course my daughter doesn’t see it that way. haha
My 7 year old has a very grown up taste, so she LOVED this. She will eat all kinds of cheeses (the stinkier the better!). My 3 year old also will eat anything that I’m eating. My boys are a little pickier so I made them grilled cheese when we had that. I wouldn’t normally do that, but on the weekends I’m a little more flexible because we do more snacky dinners, so everyone gets what they like for one night out of the week!
