Target Shopping Trip

Here are the results from my Target shopping trip on Thursday.  If you missed this post, they have toys marked down 75% off right now at most stores.  I usually get a few things and I can tell you people get pretty crazy with these sales.  I saw a lot of people with 2 and 3 and even 4 cartloads of toys!

I usually try to just get a few things that we may have wanted for Christmas and didn’t get or to use for birthdays throughout the year.

Here is what I got:

Not so scary monster with book $4.37 (my 3yo is obsessed with monsters right now so that will be a Valentine’s Day gift)
Tangled Table and Chairs $12.48
Lionel the Train Polar Express Train Set $14.98 (this is a really cool train set and I will probably keep it for next Christmas)
Madagascar Tag Book $3.48
Tinkerbell Character Set $8.74 (this I will have on hand for any little birthday parties)
Art Desk $4.37- that is a really sturdy little table top desk

So the total was about $48 + tax and I know the retail price on the Tangled chairs and table alone was $49.99.

If you decide to check this sale out, here are two trips:

1. Not every store will follow the same clearance schedule so there is a chance your store will not have hit 75% yet.  As I said before, my store had signs indicating 30% off even when they were 75% off- so you might scan the toys to be sure!

2. Most stores will probably be sold out of almost everything by now.  You might want to head over sooner if you are interested.

My store was completely wiped out by the time I got there yesterday. I don’t know when it officially went to 75% off b/c I have been snowed-in ;(
All that was left was a bunch of Froggio games and some other not so exciting things.
The luggage clearance looked promising though. I saw a giant suitcase with a cute flower print for $34 that was orig. $70.

btw, I was at TJ Maxx yesterday and they are having a big store-wide clearance sale as well. I found quite a few great deals on toys and baby stuff. I didn’t really look around at the other depts but I think there are probably some great deals to be found all over the store.

Thank you so much for your posts. I knew that things were starting to get marked down and didn’t want to wait for a post. I headed to target yesterday and got a couple of presents for upcoming birthday parties. They had they Squinkies playsets (gumball & cupcake) for $9.98. I paid $19.99 on sale before Thanksgiving. And I bought the Zhuzhu pet Pizza Shop for $6.52. They had several Zhuzhu & KongZhu sets on clearance, but not the actual ZhuZhu pet. If you are looking for those, Walmart was $2 cheaper than Target. Also, be sure to walk around. My Walmart moves all it’s holiday & toy clearance to the lawn & garden section of the store.

Jasmine I see so many toys on sale for dirt cheap from Amazon and Kohls and such. I know it is a bummer but I wouldn’t be too upset. You can always pick up a few things here and there as the year progresses.

Yeah I’m not too worried about it ;D It’s just fun when I can snag clearance deals, haha.

Was the Tag book on clearance for $3.48? I wondering because I have a $3 off coupon for a Tag book. Thanks.

I was one of the crazies in the store at 8am on Thursday with my 2 besties. I got 37 items for a total of $220, or about $6 each. $800 worth of toys! I got a few for my own kids, finished the other kids on my Christmas list, bought a few things for friends that they asked me to get, and got 10 things for Toys for Tots next year. Pretty good, considering I got a $100 doll care center for $25 and an $80 remote control car for $20!

Alice it was. I only have coupons for $3 off a $9 book or that would have been really spectacular.

    Charlene,
I need to get in the habit of reading the coupons better. My coupon says the same thing. Thanks.

    Charlene,
Do you have the DPCI from that Tangled table, I would like to call and see if Target has any left?
    thanks

I went yesterday and got Legos for 50% off. If you buy Legos you know how great those deals are since usually the “big” sales are $2 off a $40 set!! 🙂 I once saw a big sale sign for 39 cents off a $20 set. They still had a bunch of the smaller sets on clearance.
