I went to do my shopping trip and was bummed to find that the produce I still need was ridiculously priced at Safeway. So I will have to stop at Raley’s tomorrow.
Here is what I did tonight:
~SAFEWAY~ .98
(4) Special K 2/$5- Used (2) BOGO coupons, the coupons took a full $4.49 off- so .51 for 2 boxes. Plus I got a cat back for a free milk!
2 Lucerne Cream Cheese at $1 each
2 Frigo String Cheese $2.99- used $1/1 coupon
Lemon .50
Craisins $2.99 for 2 bags (and these are blueberry and pomegranate flavored- yummy!)
Organic Fresh Chives $1.99
I had the $5 credit from last week’s ordeal come off plus I used the $3.50 and $3.00 cats I had from buying granola bars and fruit snacks last week. So the grand total was $.98 and then I went back through to get a gallon of milk free!

~TARGET~ $5.28
(4) Chobani Yogurt $1.20 with raincheck- used .50/1 coupon
Alexia Fries $1.98- used $1/1 coupon
~CVS~ $6.35
This was a stinker because my store was wiped out of what I intended to buy. You can click below to see the transaction I originally planned.
3 Starbucks Frapuccino $4.99- Used (3) $1/1 coupons
2 Izze 4pks $2.99- Used (2) $1/1 coupons
+$1.20 in CRV tax
I also used a $4/20 CVS coupon I got in email and I used the $7 ECB I got from buying Revlon last week. I got a $10 ECB back.

Here was my original plan for CVS. The majority of stores will start ads early on Saturday- this will be different from store to store and you can just ask at your store or go in on a Saturday and see if you spot new signs. This can be great because you can essentially combine the sales from two weeks.
Here was my original plan:
Transaction 1:
Buy 2 Excedrin PM at $5- use (2) $2.50/1 coupons
Buy 1 Excedrin at $4.79- use free item coupon
Buy 1 Excedrin at $5.49- use free item coupon
Buy 1 Reese’s at $1.59
Buy 1 Snickers at .89
Pay $7.48 and get $12.48 back in ECBs (This was planned to use the $7 ECB I had from the prior week- so .48 oop)
Transaction 2:
Buy 3 Starbucks at $4.99
Buy 2 Izze at $2.99
Use $4/20 coupon from email
Use (5) $1/1 coupons
Pay $11.95 and get $10 ECB back- I would have used the $10 + $1.59 ECBs from above to pay (so .36 oop)
Transaction 3:
Buy 3 Maalox at $6.99
Buy 2 Airwick Freshmatic at $6
Use (3) $5/1 Maalox coupons
Use (2) $4/1 Airwick coupons
Pay $9.97 and get a $10 ECB back- I would have used the $10 ECB from above to pay- (so 0 oop)
Transaction #4:
Buy 3 Finish Tabs at $3
Use (3) $2.25/1 coupons
Pay $2.25- I would have used the .89 ECB from T1 to pay- so $1.36 oop and another $10 ECB back
I think that would have worked out nicely but of course every store is wiped out of Excedrin. I did get a raincheck and I will cash in whenever the restock.
I would have spent about $2.20 + tax and CRV so probably about $10 total but I would have $20 back in ECBs. Plus I started with a $7 ECB- I only paid $3 to get that $7 and the $3 I used another ECB to pay for :).
So this is the beauty of having sales start early at CVS!

You had a pretty stellar trip to Safeway! I made a quick little trip there myself tonight and did pretty decent.
Here’s what I did:
1 gallon milk $2.79
1.5 qt ice cream (overstock reduced price) $2.39 – used $1.50/1 cat coupon
2 liter Sierra Mist $0.99 – used FREE cat coupon
VitaminWater $1 – used $0.75/1 cat coupon
Plus I used my $3 catalina from the fruit snacks I purchased earlier
Paid $1.18 out of pocket – not bad considering I went in for just a gallon of milk and I paid less for all of that then I would have paid for just the milk!
Have you noticed that Safeway has been putting out a lot of really good beverage coupons lately? I think I have lost count of the number of 2 liter sodas I have gotten for free lately, both Safeway brand and national brand? And that $1.50/1 Lucerne Ice Cream coupon was really nice too matched up with the overstock clearance – it made for $0.89 ice cream, which is less then one of those tiny single serve ones!!!
