CVS: Free Electrasol Tabs

Reader Amy let me know about a deal starting on Sunday at CVS stores.

If you didn’t make it to Walgreens this week, I think this is a fantastic option. I got a $4/20 CVS coupon today in email- so that will make the deal even better if you got one too!

The deal is, spend $20 on select items and get a $10 ECB. Finish gelpacks or powerball tabs are priced at $3.

The best case scenario for Electrasol:

Buy 7 Finish at $3
Use (7) $2.25/1 coupons from 1/2 SS
Final Price: $5.25 and get a $10 ECB back for a $4.75 moneymaker!

Now I know I don’t have 7 coupons and you probably don’t either, so here is an alternate idea:

Buy 3 Finish at $3
Buy 2 Airwick Freshmatic kits at $6 each
Use (3) $2.25/1 Electrasol coupons from 1/2 SS
and Use (2) $4/1 Airwick coupons from 1/2 SS
Final Price: $6.25 and get $10 ECB back!

The limit on the offer is 1.

Stay tuned for next week’s CVS deals as it is looking like a really good ad.

Thanks for giving an alternate scenario! All of the other sites I have been on are saying “buy 7 Finish.” Well I do not have 7 Finish coupons either. Thank you!

Somehow I ended up with exactly seven inserts last week, my family donates them to me =). I am going to try your first scenario, but have my other coupons just in case they don’t have that many in stock. I am really excited about next week at CVS. Also, check your emails! I got an invitation to participate in a survey on Sunday morning. I’ve done this once before. It took about 10 minutes and I was able to print a $10 ECB when I was done!

Just a heads up, last time they ran this deal, I had to ask for a rain check as my store doesn’t normally carry that much Electrasol Finish products.

Hi… I have a question. I REALLY want this deal… I have a small family of three and my husband and I only work part-time… so I am trying in every way to save money. I REALLY want this deal for the Finish. I can only afford to buy one news paper and it is tomorrow’s newspaper, and I think that the $2.25/1 (ss) is in the Jan 2nd news paper. I guess my question is… where and how… if possible… could I get these coupons?

Ok so you don’t have the newspaper from 1/2? If you don’t have any of these coupons you are sort of stuck because you will have to buy them and by now a lot of places will be sold out. You can try Ebay- I bought coupons once from Ebay and they took 3 weeks to arrive. I have heard of people getting burned from Ebay sellers too so you are taking a risk. What might be a better option for you, is to register for Hotcouponworld.com and you will need to do some reading on how to trade for coupons. You might find someone willing to trade Electrasol coupons for some printables or sometimes they will trade for postage stamps. That is a considerable amount of effort so you need to decide if it is worth it to you. One very important note, is that you probably won’t get the coupons before the sale ends. So you can ask for a raincheck from CVS and then go in at your leisure to get this deal whenever your coupons arrive.

Did you do the Excedrin deal this week? The other option to to try to roll a moneymaker to pay for what you want. So if you had paid $1 for example for the Excedrin and used the free coupons that were available, you would have a $10 ECB back. Then you could have purchased 3 boxes at $3 without any coupons and still got them all free. Does that make sense? If you are working on a seriously tight budget it is really important to invest a lot of time in really figuring out any and all moneymakers you can find to help offset the cost of the items you really need.

    Good luck-

Thank you very much. I will do a rain check and just try and figure out what else I can buy to maybe get some more ecbs this week so that I can get this deal. Thank you again

I got all mine tonight. CVS will usually start sale prices the night before depending on the store. I love doing the BIG sales early so that I can be sure to get in on it. Also remember that CVS keeps track and you don’t need to buy it all at once.
