I mentioned this deal when I posted the Rice Krispies coupon this weekend.
Target has a coupon for a free bag of marshmallows when you buy (2) boxes of Kellogg’s Cereal. Rice Krispies are priced at $1.99 this week at Walgreens, so if you take the ad in to Target and ask for a price match, you will get both boxes of cereal plus the marshmallows for $1.98.
I checked it out tonight and Rice Krispies are priced at $2.33. The boxes that I found all had $1.50/1 M&Ms Target coupons on the back when you buy a box of Rice Krispies or Cocoa Krispies.
So here is how the deal looks:
Buy 2 Rice/Cocoa Krispies at $1.99 with price match
Buy 1 Kraft Marshmallows $1.29
Use $2/2 Rice Krispies coupon
Use Free Marshmallows Target coupon
Final Price: $1.98
and then you can cut the coupons off the back of the box to repeat the transaction:
Buy 2 bags M&Ms at $2.99
Buy 2 Rice/Cocoa Krispies at $1.99 with price match
Buy 1 Kraft Marshmallows $1.29
Use $2/2 Rice Krispies coupon
Use Free Marshmallows Target coupon
Use (2) $1.50/1 M&Ms store coupon
Use $1/2 from 11/14 SS
Final Price: $3.96 for everything!
I am actually going to wait for after Christmas sales. Usually my store has M&Ms marked half off the day after Christmas which would make those free.
The 3/$7 price on the Kellogg’s cereal runs through 1/1- so even without a price match this is a great deal!

I find Target to be sticklers on price matches, since the Cocoa Krispies are not pictured in the Wags ad, I wonder if they would honor the price or Cocoa or just plain? hmmmm…..What do you think Charlene?

I have had them price match and then let me use coupons, but I believe they do one or the other regularly. I actually haven’t done a price match in a while because they did change the policy, doesn’t seem worth it to me to not be able to use coupons (I’ve been denied, rather just go to the store with the sale). I could be wrong because it has been a while since I’ve done a price match. But like you said, it’s great without the price match anyway!

I don’t know Jennifer it says Kellogg’s Select Cereal 8.7-15oz so I guess if you really had a terrible store you might have a hassle. I actually didn’t bother to price match- I didn’t want to spend the extra 10 minutes to save .33 🙂 So even if they won’t allow the Cocoa is it really not a significant difference.

My Target won’t price match because the ad says “with card” and they don’t price match loyalty programs. Crock of s**t if you ask me.
Charlene says
Kristen- the Walgreens ad says with card? Are you in a test area?

Yeah. I’m in overland park. I tried the other day with the chocolate chips and she wouldn’t do it. I read their policy last night and she was right. Pretty stupid policy.
