I had a few coupons that are about to expire so I finally went to Safeway and Target tonight.

I spent $37 for everything pictured.  Click below for the scoop!

TARGET: $17.30

5lbs oranges $2.99
Sierra Mist $1.79 (I thought this was $1.25- darn!)- Used $1 coupon
Boca Burgers $2.74
4 packages Oscar Mayer lunchmeat $2.79- used (2) $1/2 printables and a Buy 3 Get One Free Target coupon (so $1.59 per package)
4 Diet Coke $1 each- used Buy 3 get one free Target coupon (we fell off the no-more soda wagon over Christmas- bah.)
3 boxes Kashi cereal (2) at $3.49 and 1 at $2.99, this deal was a little tricky but it worked. I used the $1.50/3 Target coupon, and I used a $3/1 Kashi coupon and (2) $1/1 Kashi coupons- I got these from a free sample I requested. The boxes also had peelie coupons for $3 off fresh fruit with purchase of 3. So it looked like this:
2 at $2.99
oranges at $2.99
1 at $3.49
Used $1.50/3 Target coupon
Used (2) $1/1 manufacturer coupons
Used $3/1 manufacturer coupon
and used $3 off fruit coupon
final price: $2.96 for all 4 items
I planned to spend $2.99 on the oranges anyway so this was a great deal!
The total with state tax was $17.30

See Target deals here.

Safeway: $20.08

Enchilada sauce $2
Ramen Noodles $1.69/6 (nobody tell that I like these for lunch)
Lucerne String Cheese $2.99
4 Athenos Greek Yogurt at .99 each- Used (2) $2/2 coupons= Free
2 I Can’t Believe Its Not Butter $1.99- Used (2) Free Item coupons
1 Banquet Chicken $4.99- Used Free Item coupon
Coffeemate $2.19- Used $1 printable (this was a splurge but I wanted to try this new flavor)
French Bread $.99
Bananas $2.34
6 Kiwi $2
2 Cucumbers .79 ea
Avocado $1
3 Nabisco Crackers at $1 each- Used (2) $1/2 coupons
1 Nabisco Cracker at $1.49
1 Graham Cracker at $1.85

See Safeway deals here.

*NOTE: I have literally had those free item coupons for probably a year and I don’t recall how I got them. You can check out a list of companies that will mail out free or high value coupons in response to consumer request here.

So no my trips aren’t usually terribly exciting but remember I do not have double coupons in my area.  Also, I just bought things that we needed and not necessarily just what I could get for free for the sake of getting it free.
