Rite Aid apparently received a lot of complaints about the Gift of Savings program this year. In years past it has been calculated based upon pre coupon totals and this year, it was post coupon totals. Considering coupons are a form of payment, that isn’t really a fair way to calculate amount spent.
So Rite Aid heard a lot of complaints this year from consumers and decided to change the program!
Your totals should be recalculated within the next 48 hours to reflect pre-coupon totals! Acccording to Rite Aid it is pre manufacturer coupon, so I’d love to hear from some of you if this includes Rite Aid coupons and +Up Rewards as well.
Make sure you are entering all those receipts! You can read about the Gift of Savings program here.
See this week’s Rite Aid deals here and the special 4 day ad deals here.
One thing in particular that jumps out at me is the humidifier. This was in the 4 day sale ad which ends 12/11:
Vicks Starry Night Humidifier $34.99
Get $15 +Up
Use $5/1 Vicks Vaporizers or Humidifiers RA printable
Final Price: $14.99
*If you have the P&G coupon booklet, there is a $1.50 coupon inside.
You will pay $14.99 for it but you should also get $5 back in a Rite Aid gift certificate from the Gift of Savings!

YEAH – they adjusted my totals and removed all the deductions for ups and coupons….my total went form 4.00 to 48.00…already earned $5.00 reward. Thanks to everyone for calling them to voice their opinion.!!!
Since I do practically all my shopping at Rite Aid, I already had $142 & the $20 certificate, but am glad to see that they reconsidered after hearing their customers complaints. My WAS accumulating based on totals after the Rite-Aid coupons (Flu book & $5/25) and after +UPs were deducted, but they were NOT deducting Manufacturer coupons from the total. I wonder what my total will be at now! Too bad we can’t earn 2 rewards.
My video value coupons are still counted against my totals, but that’s okay. Everything else has cleared and my mfg. coupons and UP rewards aren’t counting against me. Woohoo!
Woohoo! My total went from about $2 to $120! I hurried and requested my reward 🙂
On another Rite Aid note, does anyone know if the $5/$25 here is legit? I have a hyperactive conscience about these things, but I’d love to use it if it is legitimate.
Mine went from $0 to a $10 reward! Woohoo!
I had purchased over $60 in merchandise and since I only paid about $4 then it said I had not qualified for any. I checked it today and now it is saying I earned $10! 🙂
Mine went for $5 to $10. My new total was calculated after +ups, video value, and rite aid coupons but not manufacturer coupons.
Oops I meant from $5 to $20! 🙂
I just received an email and I checked my status. They did not allow the up rewards to count, but credited the manufacturer coupons. I bumped up to 10 and will bump tp the 20 after todays purchases.
i went from a negative amount to $21.75 credit! thank you for posting this. i just this week emailed them twice about this as the fine print did not exclude coupons yet they didn’t give us credit for them. both times they just sent me copies of the fine print *roll eyes* i already read that, i wanted an explanation… they couldn’t provide one, so i am SOOOOO HAPPPY to see this post!
I just got my email from Rite-Aid, and they have requested my $20 certificate for me. I should get my email within 48 hours, so I can print it out. Thanks!
The John Frieda travel sized shampoo/conditioners are included in the December rebates. Buy 3 and receive the $5 rebate and moneymaker. I had a coupon from the website making it an even better deal. There was also a tag posted that showed they were included.
Mine went from $5.00 to $20.00. Thank you Rite Aid.
Christy it is not legitimate. Rite Aid did issue these coupons but they have since pulled them. Some people have saved them to computers and are distributing them but I personally don’t agree with that. It feels very close to fraud to me so I would not advise using the coupon.
Good to know…thanks!
My total jumped from $16 to $134 with only VV counting against me, not MFC’s or the Flu Shot Book coupons.
Mine changed from 16 cents to $89.00. I entered one more receipt and went over the $100 limit, so I have a $20.00 gift card on it’s way. Thanks for the update. I gave up on this program after I saw the original 16 cent total and never would have checked back to enter more receipts or claim anything.
Holy cow! That is amazing Robin.
