Picaboo has released a new promo code for 30% off all books and calendars: HOLIDAY30. The books from Picaboo are always very popular because they are great quality. Typically a large hardcover book is about $40 and shipping is roughly $10.
You will for sure want to start getting any books ordered that you want to use for holiday gifts so they arrive on time.
Groupon is offering a $100 voucher to Picaboo today for $35. You can use the Groupon for shipping and taxes- so you should be able to get 2 books for $35. You might also be able to use promo codes in addition to the vouchers- some have had luck with it and some have not.
Anyone, in any city can purchase this Groupon today- just click on the city drop down button at the top center of the page. Select Canada and then Edmonton.

Charlene, do you know if Picaboo charges their shipping charge ($5.95) for each item, like if I purchase multiple calendars?
Mary Beth says
I used Picaboo to make calendars last week and I was NOT able to combine my Groupon voucher (which they treat as a gift card) with the promo code they were offering at the time. It was a bummer – but I still feel like the Groupon is such a great deal that it was worth it.
Charlene says
This is a spectacular deal either way. To pay $17 total per book for a nice hardcover book to be shipped is a deal. So I hear both ways from readers and I did note that you might be able to or you might not.
Charlene says
I do not know. I would just make a very fast one and test it at check out and see what happens.
Jennifer says
Thank you SO much for posting this… I missed the one a few weeks ago and was completely and totally sick about it.
kristen says
Nope, you CANNOT use your Groupon with their deal. Sucks big time. Used my Groupon up and won’t be ordering from there again…too expensive!
Trudy says
Thanks for the heads up! Photo books are always on my list! I just ordered this – and it can’t be used until after 12/7– so won’t be able to test it with the current promo code (maybe there will be a new one out by then). However, $35 for 2 photo books is still a GREAT deal!
Trudy says
Correction- make that 12/7 at 12 AM (not AFTER 12/7). So the Groupon can’t be used until 12/7, basically.
Charlene says
Kristen, I have ordered several personally and each time used a promo code and each time used a Groupon. You can also search all the prior posts for this offer and see several people that did use codes. As I stated in the post, some have been able to and some have not. I did not say you would be able to. I am sorry you were unhappy with the product. I happen to think this is a good deal but if you feel you can find a better offer elsewhere than I would simply pass on this offer.
Kerry says
Oh I was hoping this would come back! I made them last time and they were gorgeous! I actually got 3 books because I used a coupon code you posted so hopefully it works again!
Trudy says
DO note the Christmas deadlines. To be delivered via US mail by Dec. 24th, the order cutoff was yesterday. For Ground Shipping (presumably UPS), the cutoff is 12/9. They still aren’t “guaranteed” to be there by 12/24 even if you order by those dates, that’s just the recommended cutoffs. Since you can’t use the Groupon until 12/7, you may have to upgrade to Ground shipping to have a better chance for arrival by Christmas (which = more $$). Still- I’ve heard the quality of these books is great and I think I will come out cheaper doing it this way with or without a promo code. My family might just have to deal with getting the books AFTER Christmas, though… oh well!
Charlene says
Trudy at least you can get your book made and have it ready to go. I have a few to make as gifts and still haven’t done it either. Even though I posted repeatedly to tell people to get orders in 🙂 I never follow my own advice.

Those who have ordered these books before– what do you think of the quality? I was just reading online that the quality of the Picaboo books is not the best. I normally make them through Kodak Gallery, which allows for high res. uploads. I need to make some calendars and other things as well- so I’m trying to decide if I should just make the photo books through Kodakgallery (which I know will turn out “ok”- I don’t think theirs are the best, either, but at least I know what I’m getting) and do calendars instead through Picaboo, which don’t have to be as “nice” quality-wise… Any opinions? I snagged the $20 Kodakgallery credit for $10 Groupon a while back. It’s not as good as the Picaboo- but still something!

I loved my book, the quality was great. I did make the book, and then went back and edited it, but ended up being sent the original copy I made before any editing…which could very well have been a mistake on my part, maybe I messed something up??? Anyway I love it!

I just received 2 books that I ordered less than a week ago. I am very pleased. The quality is great! I was able to use my Groupon with the promo code (the 40% in Nov.) and saved a ton. I will definitely use Picaboo again. Just wanted to give my two cents and my experience. I don’t know why some are able to use the promo codes and some are not. I will say I entered the promo code before I entered the gift card number, if that makes a difference.

I made some photo books thru Picaboo about a month ago and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY. Really high-quality! I would definitely recommend them.
Trudy says
Thanks for all the feedback on the photobooks- that’s good to know! I was nervous about ordering one without knowing if the quality was ok (esp. after reading some of the reviews saying they aren’t the best quality). These definitely make the best gifts!!!!
Erin says
Has anyone noticed that this is $35 in Canadian dollars? That’s roughly the same in US dollars, but I’m wondering whether my credit card company will charge a fee for the conversion?
Kristine (Mommy Needs Therapy) says
I stayed up until 2am the other night to finish books and calendars in time to get the 40% discount. I also had two Groupon’s. I was able to use one with the promo codes. The second one I couldn’t. When I looked closer at the Groupon I realized that the one I couldn’t combine with the discount clearly said that.
It was an amazing deal and worth burning the midnight oil for. And shockingly I received 2/3 of my order today, less than 72 hours after ordering.

I just ordered through Picaboo for the first time. I used a 40% off discount code for November, and I had a Groupon as well. My shopping cart summary said I would be charged $60 (for 3 books) but when I submitted my order it said I was charged $158! I was so upset – it didn’t take the 40% off. I decided to contact them, so I clicked the link to chat with them and they responded immediately (at 9pm PST)! All I had to do was explain my dilemma and they immediately initiated a refund to my credit card for the difference. I received my books 4 days later and I love them! The picture resolution is fantastic. I’m super-happy with this company. If you have trouble with them in the future, I recommend contacting them. It was quick and painless and saved me 80-something dollars! 🙂

Thanks for sharing, Paula!
I just used this latest Groupon deal this AM. I had already created my book, just was waiting for the deal to activate. The Groupon clearly states “cannot be combined with other offers”. So- I tried the 30% off, anyway, but it would not allow me to use the $100 voucher AND the 30% off. So of course I opted for the $100 voucher. Still a fantastic deal! I got 2 leather photo books and used my kids’ “professional” photos (not the horrible ones I take- lol). Used all black for the backgrounds… they look stunning in the previews. I upgraded to 2 day shipping, to make sure they are here before I leave town to see my family next Friday. These are gifts for both sets of my parents. If they are as nice in person as they look on the preview, I will be a very, very happy camper. The books started at $39.99 for the leather- and the 2-day shipping was $19.99. So my total was $99.97 (almost exactly my Groupon). A great deal! I was hoping to use the 30% code too and get a 3rd for myself– but that’s ok. The book is saved, so I’ll wait and order it for myself the next time a great deal comes along!
Thanks again for posting this great deal!!!!!!!!!!
