Tassimo has provided me with one of the brand new T20 brewers for a lucky reader.  I have had a Tassimo for about a year and I love it.  I don’t want to fool anyone though because these are certainly not frugal.  We have certain areas of our budget that I cut back on and certain areas for small indulgances and this is one of them!

I have loved my Tassimo since day one.  I am not a morning person and the morning at the MFA house is crazy.  The first thing I do is start brewing coffee and it used to feel like climbing a mountain to  brew a pot of coffee.  With these machines you can buy little disks and pop them in the brewer and that is it!  They brew one single cup so you always have a fresh cup and each person can decide what flavor of coffee they like.  One of the other features I like about Tassimo is the variety of beverages.  You can buy regular coffee (I like Gevalia the best) or espresso drinks.  My favorite is the Suchard Hot Chocolate and the Twinings Chai Lattes.  They also have lattes, cappuccino and macchiatos.

These don’t get quite as frothy as a coffee house beverage but they are an excellent option for at home and just a fraction of the price.

I typically purchase Tassimo disks from Target and they start at $5.99 per pack for Maxwell House coffee (16 disks).  I can usually find Starbucks coffee for $7.99 (12 disks).   Some people also purchase them with coupons at Bed, Bath and Beyond or Macy’s or you can order online directly from Tassimo.

So now Tassimo has come out with a new designer series of the brewer, it comes in white and you can purchase custom colored inserts in Strawberry Red, Mint Blue, Lime Green or Hazelnut Brown.

The brewers retail for $129 from Amazon and they currently have a $30 rebate back- making the net price $99.
