Target: Leapfrog Books $2.50 Each!

Well I am so excited I can barely sit still.  The Target ad for NEXT WEEK (11/21-11/24 only) is showing Leapfrog Tag books priced at $9.99- Buy One Get One Free!!

Remember that $5 off Leapfrog Tag book coupon?  Well that means you can get 2 for $4.99- or $2.49 each!!  (The coupon says any book priced $9 or higher so I don’t think you can use 2 coupons).

There is also a $3 off any Tag book priced at $9 or higher here- so you can get additional books for $3.49 each!

We don’t even have a Tag Reader but I just love these books and this is by far the best price I have seen!

*IMPORTANT NOTE:  This is an advance copy of the ad so I can not promise we will see this deal.  I really have my fingers crossed but there is always a chance the information is wrong. The ad does state that this excludes Tag Jr. I would print these coupons now while they are available!!

I’d love to hear what you guys think- since the coupon states a book $9 or more- what is your opinion?  Can you use (2) coupons and get both books free?

YAY!!!!! I just bought a Tag reader today at Target with those fabulous coupons . They had a Tag reader with a toy story book included today on price cut for $39.49 normally $44.99 plus got the $15.00 off and paid $24.99. I can’t wait to get more books next week. 🙂

=| Why do they have to hate on the Tag JR? LOL

I told you the Christmas book at $5 was a really good deal for Tag Jr 🙂

I know! i’m tempted to buy the regular tag book for my daughter because their books are always on sale!

Yay, just in time for Christmas. I want to get my son the Toy Story books.

I am VERY excited about this because my daughters 4th birthday is monday and she is learning how to read. I was eyeing the new Beauty and the Beast book and the Toy Story book the other day! Glad I held out! I may even print out a second coupon for Christmas presents!

    11/16/2010 at 8:26 PM

How exactly do they work out to be $2.49 each?

  9. Brooke says

    11/16/2010 at 8:31 PM

Awesome!!! I don’t see why you can’t use a second coupon for the free book, it IS retailed at $9.99… Wouldn’t it be the same as using 2 coupons on a regular BOGO deal??

  10. Christine says

    11/16/2010 at 8:42 PM

Can’t you use 2 coupons? I usually do that with B1G1 stuff.

  11. Charlene says

    11/16/2010 at 9:10 PM

Christine, Personally I don’t feel comfortable with that. I think you can decide what you think is right but to me that just doesn’t seem right. Also, the coupon says any book $9 or more so to me a book priced at 0 would not be honoring what the coupon is intended for. I guess this is one of those grey areas where some will feel fine with it but others won’t. 🙂

  12. Charlene says

    11/16/2010 at 9:13 PM

Nicole, if you purchase two books at $9.99 one will be free. That means 2 books are a total of $9.99. If you use a $5 off coupon, that would make 2 books for $4.99. So if you divide $4.99 by 2 that makes each book $2.49.

  13. Nicole says

    11/16/2010 at 9:15 PM

Oh yes I got it now, so sorry, I thought it was buy one get one 1/2 off. What a great deal. Can’t wait to get one for my daughter for Christmas.

  14. Charlene says

    11/16/2010 at 9:15 PM

Brooke- I don’t need the ad in case you didn’t guess 🙂 I think you should do what you think is right. Personally I think it is bending the rules a little- which I have been guilty of for sure. I think if the books were priced 2/$10 and you took a $5 off $9 book coupon in, most cashiers would refuse it. To me this is the same principle that the book is priced at 0. So I feel like $2.50 a book is good enough for me but you can decide to do whatever you feel is right.

$2.50 a book is GREAT!! Plus Id rather spend a tad more to get a couple extra books. I was able to print 2.

I was able to buy the Toy Story 3 Tag Jr yesterday for $12 , it was only marked down to $27 it was the last one and I live an hour away from Target so I just bought it. I am a little confused will this deal not work on the Tag Jr books as well.

I just purchased two tag books yesterday if my ad does offer this awesome deal can I go to customer service to get a price adjustment?

  18. Charlene says

    11/17/2010 at 8:48 AM

Tanya the ad says “not applicable to Tag jr books” so that means they are not including them in the sale.

I am having trouble printing the 3.00 coupon. When I click on your link I have to sign in and it takes me to the coupon but there is no link to print…..any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong? BTW THANK YOU for all you do. I have saved a ton of money just from reading your site. THANKS!

Merrie the leapfrog coupons are a massive pain in the rear. Here is what you need to do- go to Leapfrog.com and register for a learning path account. It is on the top left side. If you have one already just log in. Once you do that come back and click for that coupon. That is the direct link to the coupon but Leapfrog forces you to have an account in order to see it.

I watched the video on the $5 coupon and got ready to print but my printer wont work (ive tried everything) So i went and got a new printer, hooked it up, and now when i try to go to that site i watch the video but when its time to print the coupon, it says only one per person, Can someone please scan theirs and post a copy. Or i can give you my email. I will be in your dept. Im a single mom thats laid off, so that coupon will really make a difference this christmas. Thank you

Sidney- I am sorry but no one can scan coupons that would be fraud and you can get into serious trouble for that 🙁 Maybe someone has a great suggestion for how you can get another coupon though.

re: price adjustments – you can usually get the price adjustment within the time frame (is it 14 days? Charlene – do you know off hand?) Last year, I checked with customer service the week before Black friday, and asked if they would do price adjustments on Black Friday, and they said yes. So I bought what I wanted (knew selection would be limited on BF) and went back later in the day on Black Friday (when it wasn’t total chaos!) and they adjusted for me no prob! Not sure if they are doing it again this year…I hope so! 🙂

Ok D. I will respond but keep in mind I hear from a lot of people and I still have memories of the alphabet pal deal last year at Target (and the reader that told me she sat crying in her car because that was all she could afford for Xmas and her store said no…). Anyhoo- technically I believe there are loopholes in the policy for special sales. You might be able to do it if your store is great but I can’t promise that. Also this deal is Sunday thru Wed 🙂 it isn’t black Friday.

Great deal!!! Can anyone tell me how I can get a $15 off coupon for the Tag Reader, thanks!

  26. D says

Ok, I just came from Target…(yes, I realize it’s 9 am! LOL!!) and I bought 8 Tag books with 4 coupons. FYI, it lists them as a package deal (2 books together) and on 2 of the ‘packages’ it applied 2 coupons, and on the other 2 ‘packages’ it didn’t apply any. So looks like Target is taking 2 $5 coupons on 2 books. 🙂 Hope that helps!
Oh, and the $5 Hasbro coupon in the Toy Book – Guess Who is on sale for $7 – $5 = $2! 🙂
