Safeway: Thanksgiving Dinner Shopping Ideas

I mentioned this in the weekly matchups but I thought I’d work through a sample scenario for getting your Thanksgiving Dinner.  Safeway has pretty lackluster deals this week, but if you shop at Genuardis, Vons or Safeway, you can still get $15 off your first home delivery.

You just place your order online and select what day and time you prefer delivery.  They will bring it right into your kitchen and you never set foot in the store.

Here is just one idea I came up with to get pretty much everything you might need- the prices are valid in my area so you might find a few differences in yours.

{Deal Idea}

Buy Safeway Frozen Turkey (16-20lb) $8.77
Buy 2 packages of King’s Hawaiian Savory Rolls at $2.50 each
Buy 2 Safeway Turkey Gravy at $1.39 each
Buy 1 Satsuma Oranges 5lb box at $3.97
Buy 10lbs Russet Potatoes for $4.39
Buy 2 Fresh Express Salads at $3.89 (Buy One Get One Free)
Buy 2 Greenline Green Beans $4.39 (Buy One Get One Free)
Buy Stove Top Stuffing $3.29 (Buy One Get One Free)
Buy 1 Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce $1.50
Buy 1 Safeway Pumpkin Pie for $3.99
Buy 1 Safeway Fresh Apple Pie $2.99
Buy 1 French Vanilla Ice Cream $2.50

My total was $50.75- then use promo code: CJSAVINGS and you will get free shipping plus $15 off your order.  So the total for everything above is $35.75!

You can also try ordering your wine, flowers and other items if you don’t need the items I selected.

This is only valid for your first delivery and is available for select cities from:

Safeway.com
Vons.com
or Genuardis.com

See the complete list of deals for Safeway this week here.  Does anyone else have a great idea to take advantage of this promotion?

Awesome! Thank you for the great ideas! Some of these items I bought at Target already but there was still so much to buy. I am supposed to have my delivery on Tuesday and I can’t wait to get it! Thanks for all you do!
