Impressive!! : )
I’m curious to know where she got all the coupons!
Wow.. lots of stuff! That would be a wonderful way to support local food pantries and others in need.
Always cracks me up how much toothpaste people buy…Am I supposed to be eating it? 😉 My family goes through a tube a month (4 of us). That’s a great frugal shopping trip for sure though.
Thanks! The coupons were a combination of internet, e-coupons and inserts (I get 6 Sunday papers). Smith’s was having an awesome sale, and if any of you are near one, most of the stuff is still on sale this week. They give you $5 off for every 10 items you purchase that are part of the sale, so that made it easy to stock up and donate.
Jay I only have about 3 actually and 2 are going to donation boxes this week. I think Kahra does the same thing. I have another reader that works with people that are living paycheck to paycheck and she takes several bags of drugstore items in each week. Little things can really brighten someone’s day and I think toothpaste is low hanging fruit since it is free all the time 🙂
Super job! Couponing is a great way to give, esp for us on a budget. I can easily pick items up for free or next to nothing and donate w/o hurting our already tight belt. Good going Kahra!
Awesome haul! Don’t you just love Smiths/Kroger’s coupon policy?!?!
As for the toothpaste…I’ve worked in dentistry for years, and you’d be astounded at the “other” uses for toothpaste. It can be a great cleanser and can remove scuffs on tile floors or shoes. It works quite well as a deodorizer and can even be used to fill holes in a wall! Of course these uses are for the paste style, not the gel. Obviously, donating your stockpile is the best idea, but maybe these ideas will help you save a few pennies on other items.
Check out the new kroger deal for the holidays….4 coupons per item doubled up to $2.00. We bought 50 items for $5.32.
