In regards to the thomas the train wooden railway beginner set their is a mc coupon in all the parents mags for 10.00 off. So stack it with the 50% off which makes it 2.49each. This is true at target as well. I picked up 3 for the neighborhood kids. I *lso got 3 for myself and used the extra railway tracks to make it much longer.

Thanks for all your ideas Charlene, you are great and I really appreciate all your work!
I am wondering if anyone has any advice on the Tag Readers. Is it worth getting the Jr Tag Reader, or just get the Tag Reader. I read one place that the regular one works for the Jr books. interested in this for my 3 yr old, also have a 5mo old coming next. would love any reviews/thoughts. From a frugal standpoint, are the systems worth it since you have to buy all the books? TIA!!

Nicole…I have a 2.5 year old and he likes that he can “read” books himself (he has the Jr.) I am not sure if you can use them interchangably. But…they hold a limited number of books and maybe once you fill up the Jr. you can pass it down and buy the next one for the older child. The Jr. seems to be less tempting to put in his mouth (since it’s bigger and NOT a pen)….HTH

    Gina,

I have not seen that coupon yet but hopefully my magazine comes soon. Regarding Target, I have not posted that deal because it seems the coupons are actually for 2 different items. If that is incorrect please let me know but if memory serves one coupon for for a Beginners set and the other was for Early Engineers.

    Hi Charlene-

Let’s see….In the target toy coupon book use the 50% off thomas beginner’s set coupon page 1… stacked with the 10.00 off MC coupon from parents mag and family fun both Nov. issues. This works because the BEGINNERS SET is included in the EARLY ENGINEERS LINE. The coupon DID NOT beep when I made my purchase at Target. I thought the same thing about the coupons being for different items….then I dug into the thomas the train website and the early engineer line…….. it is included as well as some others. The kicker for me was to see if it was going to beep at the cashier at target and all was well. So over the last week I picked up a total of six. You may ask…how did I have so many MC coupons??? I had 2 dr.’s and 1dentist apt this week and they had the mags. in the waiting rooms! I hope this helps….let me know if you have any more questions:]

Charlene- I believe that Parenting: The Early Years, had a coupon for $10/1 Thomas’ Early Engineers Line. If that is the same thing (I can’t find me coupon) then that could be $2.49!

Ok great Gina. I will check that out in just a bit!

Nicole- My daughter has a tag jr and she loves it. She’s 2 1/2 and it is VERY durable… she is a little rough with it and it has lasted since last christmas ๐Ÿ™‚ It does other activities with the books as well. I think you should hold out on getting the tag reader just from a durability standpoint alone… it has a pen tip and I know my daughter would be hitting it on the book pretty hard sometimes.

what page is the MC coupon on in Parents / Nov? I cant find it…

  10. Charlene says

    11/12/2010 at 2:59 PM

Becky it is actually Parenting the Early years not Parents. The coupon is on page 101.

Gina, I think I might be blind but I have both in front of me:

Target: Wooden Railway Beginners Set 50% off
Parenting: Wooden Railway Early Engineers $10 off

    http://thomasandfriends.hitshopusa.com/advanced_search_result.php?page=1&keywords=early+engineers&per_page=0&sort_by=Relevance&age_dimmension=1

Those are the Early Engineers toys from the Thomas site but I don’t see a Beginners Set listed.

The picture of the Beginner’s kit in the Target book doesn’t say Early Engineers.

Sorry to be a pain but I don’t want anyone to miss a good deal. On the other hand it would be fraud to use a coupon on an item it isn’t intended for so I have to be really careful with this stuff.

    Thanks!

thanks everyone. i have been looking to get thomas deal and tag.

my son is 2 1/4 and he has the poingo reader and he tends to rip the pages so i might put it away and opt for the tag jr til next year.

    he loves reading

Just wanted to say that I went to Target today and the Tag Jr. Toy Story bundle pack was marked on clearance for $27.xx, when I price checked it, it rang up $9.98. I then used a $10 target coupon from the toy coupon book, walked out paying zero, not even tax because it was a Target coupon!
