$50 to Dormzy Food Delivery for $25

Groupon has a fun offer today.  You can get a $50 voucher to Dormzy for $25 and shipping is free.  Dormzy is primarily a food service company that specializes in sending care packages of essentials to college students.

At first I saw top ramen and Cheez Its on the site and I wasn’t that excited about this offer.  But then I noticed they carry laundry soap and pharmacy items as well.

So you might take a look, basically everything is half off and you get it shipped free.  So some prices are good and some are terrible.  If you do have a college student or an older kid on your shopping list, they might like one of these vouchers as a gift.  My 20 year old nephew just moved into his own apartment and I am thinking this will be a perfect birthday gift for him.

They do carry a few Olay, Herbal Essences and Secret Deodorant.  So you can also use the $50 voucher to buy those items and then submit the $20 rebate to P&G!

This could be a great deal for those that don’t use coupons:

{Deal Idea}

Buy 6 Olay Body Lotion at $4.99= $24.54
Buy 3 Herbal Essences Shampoo at $3.79= $35.91
Buy 2 Herbal Essences Conditioner at $4.09= $44.09
Buy 2 Secret at $3.29= $50.67

Pay with your $50 voucher, you will have spent $25 on the voucher plus $.67 and tax.
Then you get $20 back in a rebate, so the net price is $5.67 + tax or .44 an item

You must spend all $50 in one trip and the voucher expires Sept 2011.  Anyone in any city can purchase this offer.  Just log in or register at Groupon and click on view more cities and then  head over to Lexington.

Thanks Savvy Spending Meghan!

Wow, I usually dont use those PG products, but this almost makes it worth it! Do you know if you would just use the receipt from Dormzy as a valid receipt? TIA!

Well an online order does count. I haven’t ordered from Dormzy before but my guess is that your receipt will list all the items and the prices. Then at the bottom it should reflect the gift card voucher savings. You are taking a risk for sure because I can’t predict exactly how the receipt will appear but I would assume that everything would be listed as line items.

Still thinking about this one….Getting the Dole fruit cups delivered to my door at 1/2 the price it worth it in itself since we go through them for lunches like crazy 😉 Oh, and sometimes my orders (from other vendors) only come with a packing list/no prices. I wonder if P&G will take an ‘order confirmation’ e-mail as a valid receipt for the rebate….I guess if you were planning on doing the deal, it wouldn’t hurt to call P&G. 🙂

Well I know you can submit online orders for rebates. That I am certain of. How Dormzy lists out orders is another matter though. I am not sure about that. They should have line items with the prices on the order confirmation but you never know.

When Olay did a facial lotion/cleanser rebate over the summer, I bought some of the items online thru Ulta. They had them listed weird on the packaging slip so I printed out the email confirmation & stapled the two together & the rebate went through fine.

When Groupon says you can purchase one for yourself and one as a gift, can you still use the gift one but under a different name but be shipped to the same address?

Just wanted to mention that I did the Dormzy Groupon and I do not like Dormzy at all. Most of the things on their site can’t be purchased because they are out of stock. They didn’t have many P&G items in Nov/Dec so I decided to wait to use the Groupon – but each time I have checked the site they have been out of most I would want to buy/is a good deal. I just got a bunch of random stuff today just so I can use the Groupon and be done with it. I can’t imagine that they can stay in business with such a small variety of goods they have in stock/can sell. Just wanted to let others know in case you are thinking of doing this if Dormzy offers the Groupon again. I wouldn’t.
