Beauty and the Beast Trip!

I wanted to update how Beauty and the Beast went for me today!  I am so excited this worked out even better than I hoped and it seems that many of you are having good luck as well!

I got the Blu Ray combo pack for a grand total of $2.99- plus $.81 tax.  That went on the free gift card we already got from Tinkerbell- so actually my total was zero out of pocket! Even better, I have $5 in credit toward Toy Story 3!

I know some people are confused about the Blu Ray combo packs so I just wanted to show you what you will get:  the Blu Ray movie and a second bonus feature disk (those are only for Blu ray and they are the blue disks) then you get a regular old DVD (silver one) that can be played on any DVD player.

So the Blu Ray combo pack actually works out cheaper with coupons than the DVD does and you get the same thing!

Here is a recap of what I did:

Blu Ray Combo pack $22.99
Paid a $5 deposit for Toy Story 3
Subtotal: $27.99
Gave the preorder card (pictured above) for Toy Story 3 which takes $10 off a second movie (in this case Beauty and the Beast)= $17.99
Gave my preorder card for Beauty and the Beast, which took $5 off= $12.99
Gave my $10 off coupon for Beauty and the Beast
Final Total $2.99!!

Now if you did not start from the beginning with Tinker Bell, here is what you can try:

Buy Beauty and the Beast Blu Ray $22.99
Get the preorder card for Toy Story 3 and give that to them
Subtotal: $27.99
$10 will come off instantly for preordering TS3
Give your $10 coupon for Beauty and the Beast
Pay $7.99 and you have a $5 deposit that will be applied to Toy Story 3 if you decide to get that movie next month. If you don’t want it, you still got Beauty and the Beast for $7.99!

Now there are two rebates available for Beauty and the Beast as well as the bonus tea cart at Toys R Us as well!

(PS:  The $10 off coupon is specifically referenced in the Toys R Us weekly ad- so you should not have any problems at all using it!)

I just got two of them with the pre-order and my total for both was $0.97!! The cashier even seemed to think I wasn’t getting the entire discount, but she couldn’t force it to go below zero. This totally makes the Tinkerbell hassle (which worked out eventually) totally worth it!

My toys r us didnt count the movie as a princess item. It was only toys, dress up clothes, and dolls. I was very sad when even the manager denied the offer.

I’m glad this transaction worked out easier then the Tinker Bell Deal. I had huge success. This was my transaction.

    (2) Blu ray combos of BATB – 22.99 each
    (1) pre order of toy story3 – $5.00
( 1) Belle Disney princess doll with growing roses- $19.00
    Total 70.97
I got the Tea cart free for having a purchase over $40.00 of princess items.
    So $70.97
    – (2) $10.00 BATB coupons from disney
    – (1) $10.00 deposit from preorder of 2 BATB combos.
    – (1) $10.00 for pre order of TS3
-(2) $10.00 gift cards from Tinker bell deal

    = 10.98 TOTAL OOP
    Ended up with
2 BATB combo movies, Belle tea cart, Bell princess doll, and preorder of TS3 for $10.98

    Whoo hoo Jenny! Awesome job!

  5. Tiffany says

I had 2 BATB preorders as well…I ended up with the 2 BATB dvds, 2 preorder TS3 and the FREE Belle cart. My subtotal after the preorder credit and coupon was $.98…yep that’s right…$.98. I am not sure how it worked and I am not complaining. I didn’t even use my Tinkerbell gift card since the total was so low…saving it for when I actually buy TS3. Good luck everyone!!!

  6. Nicole says

    10/05/2010 at 1:32 PM

So if I pre-order 2 TS3, and I buy 2 disney movies, I should be able to get $10 off each movie right?

  7. Charlene says

    10/05/2010 at 1:43 PM

Nicole- yes that sounds right. What happens in store is another matter 😉 I think what the other commenter said was that she only preordered once and somehow got the discount for both movies when she bought.

  8. marissa says

    10/05/2010 at 1:52 PM

FYI, the coupon book that you get for purchasing the B&B movie has a coupon for $6 off when you purchase B&B plus another DVD, so if you purchase 2 copies using this deal, you can save another $6 if they’ll let you use it!

on another note, my store said that the movies didn’t qualify as princess items, so no cart for me either 🙁

  9. Lisa Rounds says

    10/05/2010 at 2:13 PM

so is this preorder deal only at Toys R Us?

  10. Charlene says

    10/05/2010 at 2:16 PM

Yes Lisa. This deal is strictly at Toys R Us or Babies R us locations.

  11. Michelle says

    10/05/2010 at 2:50 PM

I heard the cashier tell someone that the movie was not part of the free cart deal but I figured it was already in my cart and worth a try. I purchased two pre order movies at $17.99 each and purchased a pair of princess dress up shoes for $5.99 to make sure that I was over the $40 that was required. The cart rang up free by itself without the cashier having to do any type of discount! The cart will ring up free in their system so the B&B movies do count towards the amount!!

    10/05/2010 at 3:03 PM

I preordered ts3 but they kept the preorder form made me put my name and number on it and said they would call when it came in?? I noticed you had the preorder form charlene. Should I be concerned?

  13. Charlene says

    10/05/2010 at 3:36 PM

Hmm. Oh so you didn’t get the card back? Hmm.. well darn. I am thinking maybe they just ran short of cards or something. I hope it is OK because without the card they can’t scan to give you the $10 off and give you credit for $5. I think it will probably be OK Holly. I don’t see why they would want to call you and if you happen to go by the store again maybe see if you can grab a card just in case.

My thought is that there will probably be another movie we all want released for the holidays. So I intend to just keep rolling these babies. I know for sure we want Dumbo and Christmas Story when those are released which I am hoping the pre-orders are there when we go and get Toy Story 🙂

Phew, I did it and survived! Lol! I got BATB for $2.99! I tried to get the tea cart but the manager said it wasn’t a princess item either. Bummer.

  15. Michelle says

    10/05/2010 at 4:48 PM

I was super excited about the B&B deal today. I kept looking at my receipt thinking that she had forgotten to do something because my total was 2.99 + tax. The only thing I am disappointed about is that they didn’t have the Blue Ray packaging. It’s silly, I know but they only had the DVD (bigger) package. It has the same discs, but just looks different…I think it must be everywhere, though because I went to the Disney Store today w/ a friend and she got the same package as me and had pre-ordered it….
I didn’t get the coupons from TRUs, though…I had completely forgotten about them. Would it be worth a phone call? I went to the store at like 10, so I doubt they were out of them already…

  16. Jen says

    10/05/2010 at 5:16 PM

Don’t listen to the managers, it automatically came off, I grabbed BATB, my little girl got a Snow White dress (we are going to disney next week), and my teacart, I let her ring it all up, teacart came off, then handed her my $5 TS3 preorder and my $10 BATB coupon. Less my $10 gift card, I walked out of there with everything for $24 including tax. The dress alone was $21.99! If I never say it too much, Charlene I adore you! This may not have been the most frugal adventure but my daughter can be Snow White with the Princesses next week and if she wants she can wear it for Halloween too, plus I have a tea cart to put away for a Christmas item and hopefully a good deal when TS3 arrives. THANK YOU!!

  17. Charlene says

    10/05/2010 at 5:24 PM

Whoo hoo Jen! Listen that dress is darn frugal if you look at the prices at Disneyland! And I am telling you every little girl there will have one on and parents $70 lighter in the pocket. You got a deal and I hope you have a great time!

  18. Sara says

    10/05/2010 at 5:24 PM

I went to the toys r us today, and the cashier didn’t let me use the $10 disney manufactuer coupon with the $10 toy story predeposit. I was only allowed to use one $10 coupon. So, I pay around $15 with tax.

  20. Charlene says

    10/05/2010 at 6:10 PM

Well poo Myra 🙁 I think if you didn’t use the $10 coupon you can try calling to complain. I think some people had luck calling 800 Toys R Us the last time.

  21. Renee says

    10/05/2010 at 6:29 PM

My TRU won’t accept internet coupons! I did the preorder for Tink and when I went to pick it up they said no to the $10 coupon! I then said cancel my preorder! Funny thing though the next week when I went back to buy Strawberry Shortcake deal I used $5/$25 coupon and they accepted it-I said that is off the computer why take it and she said it is from our website—so does my TRU think Disney are shady and won’t pay them their $10???????

  22. Christen says

    10/05/2010 at 7:10 PM

I went first thing this morning and the cart would not ring up for free. I decided to wait it out and see what other people did. After seeing that a lot of people got the cart for free, I went back to TRU tonight to get mine. I think it just wasn’t working in the morning because I did the exact same transaction and it was free the second time.
So, I got 2 movies, the cart, and 2 preorders of TS3, and 2 coupon books.
    Movies $45.98
    Preorder 2 TS3 $10
    Tax $3.36
    Minus $20 for preordering 2 TS3
    Minus $20 coupons for B&B
Minus $10 for preorder B&B (I only preordered one but, it took $5 off each)
I paid $9.34 for all the stuff. I didn’t end up using the $10 gift card I had from Tink, I’ll save it for later. I took your advice, Charlene, and put the extra copy on ebay and sold it last night before I even had it for $17. I ended up making a profit of $7.66 in the end and I still have $10 towards 2 copies of Toy Story 3!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would have never figured out the deals with these preorders to roll them all together! I have saved a ton of money and have a huge start to Christmas shopping. Thanks again!

BTW, I just wanted to point out that if your transaction doesn’t work out the way you thought, sometimes it’s just best to cancel and come back later. I get confused when the sales and coupons don’t work out to plan and have often paid more than I should have. I’m glad I waited or I wouldn’t have got the tea cart!

    10/05/2010 at 8:23 PM

So I got my 2 Batb and 2 preorders for ts and the cart($16)..same as many here, but no coupon book:( They said they had no idea what I was talking about even though there was a sign by the dvds saying that it existed. They took my name and number for when they do find out where it is but who knows…Im not betting on it.

  24. Kelly says

    10/05/2010 at 8:25 PM

Well I had a successful night at TRU. Bought 3 BatB Blu Ray combos, Tea Cart, preordered 3 Toy Story 3 movies and all I paid was tax $1.46 I am not sure how this all worked. I had an extra $5 off and $3.85 off on the receipt that I don’t know what it is for but I will take it. Add the Campbells rebate and it is a money maker.

Thank you so much Charlene, you are ROCK and God bless you!!!
Love so much your blog, helping my family save money.

I did your advise about calling 800-toysrus and after back and forward for a week with their corporate person, tru sent me $ 10.00 gc that I should got for pre order BB and got my tinker bell watch too because it not said in the add while supply last like the manager said.

Today I pick up BB dvd, I do the pre order on 1, but I have the 2 @$10.00 coupon print and do 2 pre order TS3 and got the BB tea cart for free, all of those we only spent $ 7.69 for all.

Btw, I did pre order BB @ elk grove tru and did all the transaction above @ Arden tru

Whoops Jen I guess the DVD isn’t supposed to be part of it 🙂 You know I really feel that ad is misleading with the cart and the DVD right next to it like that.

  28. Kate says

    10/06/2010 at 12:00 PM

LOVE THIS DEAL! THANK YOU!! My cashier was new and very baffled as to why the total was only 2.99….in the craziness I TOTALLY forgot about the coupon book! Is it worth the trip back or phone call? Let me know!

  29. Sassey says

    10/06/2010 at 12:53 PM

I went to TRU last night and was surprised that the Tea Carts were still there. I pre-ordered TS2, purchased 2 BATB, and got the Tea Cart for a total of $17.98 including tax. They had the coupon books all over for people to just take including by the register. It turned out to be a great deal!

  30. Amanda says

    10/06/2010 at 6:45 PM

How do you get the $10 preorder coupon? Also, are you supposed to get a disney coupon book when you buy Beauty and the Beast? Thanks.

  31. Charlene says

    10/06/2010 at 6:50 PM

Amanda- the store should have the Toy Story 3 preorder cards available on a display in front of the DVDs. Yes the ad says that you get a coupon book with your movie- so they should have those.

  32. Lindsey N says

    10/06/2010 at 7:33 PM

They wouldn’t give me the tea cart. 🙁

  33. Toni says

    10/07/2010 at 9:58 AM

How did you get the $5card forBATB preorder? I readthru your posts on this but don’t see it anywhere. Thanks!

  34. Charlene says

    10/07/2010 at 10:16 AM

Toni- you just need to walk into your store. They should have them on a display right in front of the movies. I haven’t heard from anyone yet that hasn’t found a card but if you don’t see them you can just ask for the Toy Story 3 preorder card. It will look just like the one I pictured.

  35. Shae says

    10/07/2010 at 2:35 PM

My TRU would only let me use one coupon, either the $10 printable or the $10 from the pre-order, but not both. Have you ran into this before??

  36. Renee says

    10/07/2010 at 2:55 PM

Shae- the same thing happened to me- when I questioned why I couldn’t use both the girl said that it was double dipping and I couldn’t get the movie for free! I said it wouldn’t be free -it would be 2.99!

  37. Charlene says

    10/07/2010 at 3:04 PM

Yeah Shae- they were stinkers to some people on Tinker Bell and then most people seem to have had no problems with this one. I am sorry you didn’t get the deal 🙁 There doesn’t seem to be much you can do except shop at another store really. One other thing is if you got the $10 preorder discount, you can always try going back to customer service and tell them you didn’t get credited for the coupon and see if they give you cash back. You might just get hassled though.

  38. Shae says

    10/07/2010 at 9:14 PM

Oh well. Thanks anyway Charlene. I’ve saved so much money from checking your website. You always post the most comprehensive and best deals!!

I found the bagels for the rebate at Walmart on Pleasant Grove. I got 2 blueberry packages for less than $3. Just brought the price down a little more. The bagels were with the cream cheese.

  40. Rie says

    10/09/2010 at 8:50 PM

Thanks for your tip Charlene. Luckily for me they get their shipments in on Fridays and was able to snag this awesome deal yesterday. I purchased 2 BATB (pre-ordered from TB deal), pre-ordered 2 TS2, and got the Tea Cart for a grand total OOP $8.85!!! I had soo much trouble with the TB deal that this transaction was miraculously easy. I followed your transaction order and handed the preorder card for BATB near the end, worked like a charm! The cashier was so impresed with me thanks to you =)

  41. Charlene says

    10/09/2010 at 11:46 PM

Whoo hoo! So glad it all worked out for you too Rie!

  42. Tabetha says

    10/11/2010 at 7:31 PM

How or where do I get the coupon for the preorder of Toy Story 3. The lady at TRU says I need a coupon to preoder it. I’m sorry if you already posted it somewhere. I didn’t do the the Tinker Bell deal, but was at a grand opening of TRU and got a great deal on BATB, LPS toys, and some great lunchboxes that have those rebates from Parents mag. The lunch boxes were cuter than the ones at Target and they were only $2.96. So how do I get this Toy Story 3 deal? Thanks!!!

  43. Charlene says

    10/11/2010 at 7:56 PM

Tabitha- I posted an image of the coupon for Toy Story 3 in the post. It is a stack of cards that each store should have on display near the DVDs. If they don’t have them available to take- just ask. If your store claims they don’t have any- you will need to call Toys R Us directly and ask them what to do. I don’t think I heard from anyone that could not find the cards.
