VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Target has changed the registers and they are not crediting coupons for the full value. This seems to be on coupons that are for multiple items (like a $1/2 coupon). The coupon is being adjusted down to the item’s value- not the coupon value. So if you buy (2) items at $.75 and use a $1/2 coupon- the coupon is being adjusted down to .75! So you need to watch carefully and make sure your coupons are credited properly or go to customer service and get a refund. The $2.50/3 Huggies wipes coupon and the $5/5 Kraft Cheese coupons in particular might be an issue!
You can read more about this here. (Side note: Target really needs to correct this issue. It really angers me and it has been weeks and weeks this has been going on nationwide! Shame on you Target!)
Please let me know if you spot any other great deals this week!

I think there was a coupon a few weeks ago for buy one playdough four pack and get one free. Sounds like we should look for them at Target.
Trish says
My once coupon friendly Target has turned into a nightmare because they replaced the front end staff and now they have rude hateful cashiers that act like your stealing from them when you use a coupon!! I’ve contacted management and corporate and their customer service is seriously lacking.
kelly says
thanks for the tip on watching out for the coupon error,I will be more observant at target.

After “coupon” issues at Target, I tried to talk to a manager. “I’m sorry” was the only thing this woman could say. Situation no resolved. Emailed corporate office, first response was addressed to someone else. I wrote back, got a generic response. Gee thanks Target. My cashier complained to ME how she got in trouble for taking coupons the day before that she wasn’t supposed to take. The coupons I attemped to use were all from the Targe website. No longer shopping at the Target on Gartrell in Aurora, CO. Good luck to the rest of us!
Sarah says
I’ve noticed this about Target and gone to CS several times now for my refunds. It’s so annoying! I plan on complaining to Target Corp. customer service as well. Hopefully if enough of us do they will change something. It feels so slimey on their part to have the registers not credit the full amount.
karen hiebert says
mine actually has a little sign @ the checkout saying we gladly accept store and manufactuer coupons and they are good about not getting angry but one girl just scanned it right through and didn’t check that a coupon went through. It was only a dollar but still…
Kim says
I was at target for the wipes deal on Friday. It took A LOT to get them to adjust the price of my 2.50 coupon. (It took 1.99 off)The cashier got the manager and the manager told me: well you are basically getting one for free…. I said um, my coupon is for 2.50 not 1.99! so after she realized I wasn’t going to be happy unless she adjsuted it, she hand entered the coupon. What gives Target? I use to love shopping there and now it’s become a hassel!
Kelly says
The coupon for the playdough I got was buy 1 playset get a 4pk free
Kelly says
Disappointed in my Target. I used the 2.50/3 Huggies coupon earlier this week. But didn’t notice until out in the car that 1.99 was deducted instead. Took the receipt in today & the girl at customer service told me it was “the manufacturer not Target.” Bummer.
Shalonda says
I had to ask for a manager to get the value for my coupons. I usually don’t have this trouble and it is good to know this is a nationwide issue. I will make sure to keep an eye on it. I usually hand the coupons one at a time so I can see it ring up for the right price. The cashier wants me to just hand them over but I explain that I want to make sure they ring up correctly and don’t stick together. Sometimes I get attitude but hey, I am there to save money and after the transaction is complete, it is hard to get the customer service people to give you any help.
sierra martin says
yeah, I had an issue with a $2/3 dentyne coupon a couple weeks ago. I knew about the problem and just wanted to see what would happen (I got shorted 6 cents.) Anyway, the cashier was SUPER defensive about it.. she just kept saying she wasn’t going to key it in, that’s the way it should be. I make sure not to use any multiple coupons at target anymore until I hear it’s changed.
Kris says
Had the same thing happen to me with the Huggies wipes. Used the 2.50/3 and the receipt showed 1.99 not 2.50—-I will know to pay close attention next time!!
erin says
The huggies 2.50/3 also rang up 1.99 for me too. I plan on taking my receipt back to see what happens.
Cali says
I had this exact problem last week. Thankfully I had a kind cashier. She manually entered the coupon values.
Sarah says
I give my coupons one at a time to the cashier at every store I go to. I am particularly observant at Target. I have the most problems there with the coupons not coming off for their full value. And I did have problems with the Huggies Wipes one too. But thankfully they fixed it.
Charlene says
Shalonda I do that every time I shop as well. I spent all the time and energy to sort those coupons and I refuse to spend more time and energy because they weren’t credited properly. I hand them one at a time and it saves so much hassle.
Charlene says
Well Kelly that takes the cake of dumb answers and thank you for making me laugh 🙂 I would call Target customer service if you have the time and complain.
Charlene says
I agree Sarah! It really makes me furious. And then to spend 20 minutes with a big hassle to get .51 back from them. Just rude and to me it feels like they are stealing from me. Normally I love Target but in this situation it is really shameful.
Jen T says
They’re very aware of the problem and not only are they not doing anything about it, but the managers and cashiers are starting to become more anti-coupon, argumentative, defensive, etc. etc. Target says they’re trying to fix the problem, but it makes more sense to do a roll-back on their last register upgrades so the problem doesn’t exist anymore.
Amanda says
If you price match @ Target with the Big Lots ad you can get the Healthy Balance juice for $1 a bottle if you have the B1G1F Coupons.
catherine says
here is my solution to the Target coupon problem: I let them overcharge me and then i go straight over to Customer Service and return the item. it’s a pain but i don’t like to make the other people behind me have to wait too long.
Catherine says
here are the deals I got today
2 bags of Carmel Hershey’s Kisses at $2.39 each (I used 2 -$1 off Target Q’s and 1-$1 off Man Q for two bags of Carmel kisses) so $1.78 for both.
Ortega – 3 packs of Taco Seasoning and Taco Sauce were $1 each and I had a 50 cents off 2 Ortega products so $1.50 for taco sauce and 3 taco seasoning packs. (not the best deal but I need this)
Ground Round was $1.77 per lb. in the deli area so bought 6 of them
Herdez taco sauce was 1.69 and I had a 55 cent off Q
MP eggs – $1
1 quart of half and half $1.42
So all of the above for $17.46
Charlene says
Catherine- awesome on the Hershey’s! I think I overlooked that coupon yesterday. I found the Herdez too- it was $1.97 for me but I thought $1.40 was still a good price. Salsa is expensive.
Samantha says
My last two shopping trips to Target were no fun… took over half an hour to ring my orders for both trips at different Targets. I was given such a hassle about the coupons and treated like I was a scammer. Complained and got $15 in gift vouchers after cashier kept coupons she wouldn’t ring, refused to allow scrubbing bubbles coupon where free item was worth more than purchased item, but still put a bad taste in my mouth. After noticing the decreased value for my coupons, decided Target wasn’t worth my time. I go there for some things, but stopped the big trips I was making.
Becca says
It is so sad to read the latest problems with Target. I had HUGE problems with them over a year ago, but I thought they were improving. 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
Jen T says
If only Walmart would take advantage of this issue and become more coupon friendly (a benefit to us!). It happened with all of the problems on the Pampers diapers.. Huggies took full advantage of it and rolled out with coupons, and incentive after incentive for people to make the switch.
