I thought I would mention this deal in case anyone needs office furniture. We have been looking for a smaller writing desk to put in the master bedroom and I thought Staples has a great deal this week.
They have a section of desks starting at $129. The desks come with either a free chair, a free filing cabinet or hutch (depending on which style you choose.)
We have been looking at the Manhattan Desk (pictured above) at Target- where one that looks almost identical is priced at $119.
So for $10 more, we decided to order from Staples and get the matching file cabinet for free.
You can purchase this online or in store, and online they are offering free shipping. You can see the complete list of desks that are available and also check to see which free items you can choose from. The coupon codes are listed after you select your desk. Just enter that at checkout and the total for your item will be removed.
We looked at the desks last night but I didn’t want to drag the boxes home, so I ordered online. The desk and cabinet are supposed to be delivered tomorrow!
I couldn’t find any promo codes to make the deal better, but I did go through Ebates for 2% back on the purchase. If you are not already registered with Ebates, just create an account and type in Staples in the upper right corner. Then click on Staples 2% and you will get a rebate check quarterly plus a $5 bonus in your account.
FYI- Staples accepts competitors coupons and Office Depot always has good coupons available.
Just a warning to those eyeing the desk chair – we received it as a gift last Christmas and my FIL leaned too far back and the arm cracked… then my own father sat in it and the back fell off. It’s fine for the average-sized person, for very “normal” wear, but don’t expect it to stand-up to anyone “manhandling” it in ANY fashion, lol.
Yes thanks I know about that Judy 🙂 There is one $10/25 coupon out right now and that one is in store only. I just elected not to take the carseats from our car, get the boxes in the back and drag them home, then put the car seats back to use the coupon.
I forgot all about Ebates…so how does this work because I bought a load of paper thru Ebates from staples awhile back but it doesn’t show anything on my account, just the $5 for signing up, which says it’s pending until I make a qualifying purchase.
Kelli- you will not get cash back when there are any special promo codes. If you used Ebates to purchase that paper and used any special promo codes that were not directly released by Staples, they won’t honor the cash back. So if you are doing a plain transaction with either no codes, or a code that is clearly posted by the retailer for the public- than you want to go to ebates.com and then type in whatever store and click though to shop. It couldn’t be simpler and once you actually make a purchase through Ebates your $5 will lock and you will start earning cash back. You can read all about it at Ebates.com.
