This has been all over the news today- but just in case you missed it- if you or anyone you know uses Similac Infant Formula, they have issued a voluntary recall on formula due to possible contamination.
It is not very pleasant but apparently some formula has been contaminated with beetles or larvae that can cause stomach discomfort in infants.

I called the company a week and a half ago when I opened up a can of similac sensitive formula and found a bug…today they sent me a letter of apology and two one dollar coupons…
Oh my gosh Jill that is shameful. I would have been livid 🙁 Both of my girls were formula fed and that would have literally given me a heart attack.
I found a bug as well in mine, I threw it out and now I don’t even have the container to return for a refund. They are sending me a S.A.S.E to send the other container I have since I can’t return it to the store without a receipt.
I’d hate to be the CEO of that company right now…sheesh. Glad my kids are past the formula days.

The really sad part is that they’ve had bugs for at least 8 months, but just now found it. I kept most all of my 10 month olds’ empty containers to use for storage & I pulled them all out and I found 29 on the recall list! It is SO infuriating… I know they are probably going back a little farther than they need to to cover their bums from lawsuits and such, but really – 8 MONTHS! I’m so dissapointed with the company because I only bought name brand because they were suppossed to have a better quality control standard… guess I know for next time. Don’t think the company is prepared for hoarders like me who have 29 containers to get refunded for…. I’m glad my daughter seems to be okay, and I hope all the other Similac babes are okay too.

I just found a tiny black bug on mines today recently on the similac advance powder formula my lil one is 5months old and i got ao furious picked up and call the abbot laboratoty im gettin a refund check with coupons but still concerned of the rest of the cans very upset!
