Restaurant.com: $25 Certificate for $2!

09/20/2010 By Charlene 9 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

Restaurant.com has the 80% off promotion again right now.  You can get a $25 certificate for just $2 to a variety of restaurants.

You will want to be sure to check the fine print because some restaurants have minimum purchase requirements and some might have limited hours of availability.

While you probably won’t get an entire meal for just $2- you should be able to get a $50 meal for just $27.

Just head over to restaurant.com and use promo code: SHARE at checkout.

all the $25 certificates that i saw read: must purchase $35 in food, only 1 certificate used per visit per month, and 18 pecent gratuity before certificate. so: $35 + $6.30 gratuity + $2 cert cost – $25= $18.30 minimum for $35 meal.

Lisa every restaurant will be different. If you are paying $18 for a $35 meal that is still 50% off. Not to mention you are already including your tip- which I would assume most people do tip 20% or so now. To me that seems like a great offer but if you don’t think so, I would just skip it. This is usually a pretty popular deal when they hit 80% off. I guess I look at it like this:

Must Spend $35- $25 gift certificate= $10 in food + $2 paid for certificate = $12 for a $35 meal. An 18% tip I would have left regardless if I decided to dine out.

sometimes great scenarios come up: one snazzy place in our town has a “minimum 2 entree” option for the 25 dollar cert. MOST meals on their menu are 20-30 dollars on their own for a minimum 50 dollar bill. BUT, low and behold the 13 dollar cheeseburger! Best one I’ve ever had in my life, and our total bill came to $1.09. Of course we gave a great tip, but at the end still spent about the same as a couple meals at mcdonalds (but had cloth napkins and candlelight and food to die for!) 🙂

yep I agree Charlene- sorry I was simply showing the math was all- The fine print stuff could be hard to catch. I thought it was a good deal still too, as I purchased 2 certificates! LOL

oh yes, the mexican place near our place has a 36 requirement on the tab. and initially we had 30 and they added the tax and it was fine. but now the total pre coupon has to be 36 and its hard with the two of us. better with more than just the two of us.

still a good deal. with coupon it would cost about 12. 🙂

Oh good Lisa! Sorry I get yelled at so much for things I think I get a little defensive 🙂 I had some angry people awhile back that thought they could spend $2 and not a penny more at a restaurant. No tip- nothing. They were really upset with me about it.
