Just a reminder for my CA readers in case you missed the prior two posts. Today only you can really get a sweet deal on meat at Raleys/Bel Air/Nob Hill stores.
They have some awesome store coupons available for Foster Farms ($5 off Boneless Chicken), Black Angus Beef Roast ($5 off), a Free Bel Pastry (valued at $2.99) with $10 purchase and $1.99 for 2lbs of Jennie O Turkey.
I went yesterday and loaded up and then my husband was nice enough to go today. The coupons are one per person so you might drag your spouse into the store with you today as well!
The Foster Farms chicken was priced at an outrageous $6.49/lb but you might find a slightly better deal. I got a .98/lb package and paid $1.36 after coupon. So if you can find a package close to $5 you can really get a sweet deal!
The Black Angus Beef Roast was priced at $3.49- I got a package at 1.95/lb and paid $1.81!
Plus if you give your Free Pastry coupon first you will be over the $10 mark to get that for free!
I also thought the Jennie-O turkey at 2lbs for $1.99 was a good deal as well. There is a limit of 4 and I am thinking this is a perfect thing to toss in the freezer for an easy dinner.
The grand total would have been cheaper without the turkey- but my husband paid $7.02 for everything pictured or basically $1 per lb of meat which to me is just a steal.
PS: Your store might be out of Bel Pastry. I know this happens all the time at my store and they will either offer a substitute or a raincheck- so you might just ask!

Can anyone tell me if the Jennie-O boxed turkeys are good? Are they like a turkey loaf or real turkey? Never tried them, but the price seems right.
I have 2 Raley’s and a Bel Air within 5 miles,so I did the deal on the 3 of them. One of them had run out of the pastries, and gave me a rain check.
And…for the first time I saw other ladies with coupons as well, the lady in front of me at the register handed about 5 coupons including the meat ones, and I also saw a lady at the chicken area with the meats coupons as well…
Debby I don’t eat meat but my husband was excited. They come in their own pan and it says they take 2-2.5 hrs to cook. They also have gravy on top so I would imagine it couldn’t be bad. I was thinking he might like these as Kentucky Hot Browns or whatever those sandwiches are. He got the last box of white meat this morning and they only had white and dark meat left.
My store was out of almost all the Foster Farms, so they let me substitute for one of the seasoned varieties- it was under $6 before coupon. Definitely worth asking the meat guy if you don’t see small packages!
what do the pastries taste like? I forgot to bring the coupon. ah well, there is always next time…
Karen I had the pain au chocolate once and they were just ok. I haven’t tried the Danish yet.
I just did this deal twice – my hubby and I each did a transaction – and my deep freeze is beginning to fill in quite nicely with all the great deals on meat of late!!!
YUP! So now you see how I can spend $50 a week on groceries. I just buy cheap and the freezer is always full. I could go probably 3 weeks or more at this point without buying any meat at all and we’d still have plenty of hand.
You’re so lucky to have a husband who will coupon shop!! My husband thinks he’d die of embarassment or something. If I could just get him to do it once though I think he’d be hooked too 🙂
