$5/5 Cheese Coupon (Cheap Cheese Target, Safeway, Meijer and More..)

09/01/2010

UPDATE:  I am hearing from lots of you that are having problems with this coupon.  I really hope it works but you might want to be prepared to have issues as it is very high in value and is apparently beeping at a lot of stores.

There is a new Kraft cheese coupon, get $5 off 5 of the following products:

*Kraft Singles
*Kraft Parmesan Cheese
*Kraft Natural Cheese
*Kraft String Ums
*Kraft Cracker Cuts
*Kraft Deli Deluxe
*Philly Cream Cheese
*Cracker Barrel Cheese
*Cheez Whiz
*Breakstone’s Sour Cream or Cottage Cheese (not valid in CO, CA or ND)
*Knudsen Sour Cream or Cottage Cheese (not valid in CO, CA or ND)

There are all sorts of deals out there to get cheap products!

::Target typically has bags of cheese on sale for $2- so $1 each after coupon

::Safeway has Kraft cheese on sale this week for $1.69 with in ad coupon (limit 3)- you can mix and match this with other products.  I would think the sour cream and cottage cheese would be a good deal after coupon. (The Deli Deluxe cheese singles usually go on sale for $1.99)

::Meijer has a promotion right now where you can get cheese as low as .16!

::Raley’s has Kraft cheese for $2 a bag this week- so $1 per bag after coupon

::Albertson’s has it on sale for $2 a bag and there is a $5 catalina offer when you buy 5.  That means free cheese!  (Thanks Cali!)

Does anyone else know of some good deals?

One note: This is a particularly high value coupon.  You might want to double check your store’s coupon policy to be sure they don’t have any restrictions on coupon values.  If they do, you can always try to price match a great deal at Target or Walmart.

Thanks Happy Homemaker Cindy and Common Sense with Money

Wow, thanks so much for finding this one! My expiration date is 10/1/10, so we have a little time. Especially those of us who still have a drawer full of chesse from the Safeway $5 cat deal.

Charlene September 1, 2010 at 8:47 AM

Too much cheese does not exist in my vocabulary.

Cali September 1, 2010 at 8:57 AM

Albertsons. On sale for $2 and get a $5 cat wyb 5 = FREE CHEESE!!

Carla Magee September 1, 2010 at 9:08 AM

I swear there is a CAT deal going some where… I think on the Albies ad this week.

Nicole September 1, 2010 at 9:52 AM

True….I can always store it in the freezer.

Nicole September 1, 2010 at 9:53 AM

Charlene, Do you know if Savemart has the same CAT deal as Albertsons?

Scott September 1, 2010 at 9:59 AM

The cottage cheese and sour cream do not work in CA.

Shira Wainer September 1, 2010 at 10:15 AM

i don’t understand how it’s free cheese at albertsons….if it’s $2/bag and you buy 5 = $10. Get $5 catalina leaving $5 left as payment right? how is it free?

Shira Wainer September 1, 2010 at 10:15 AM

wait ignore my comment!

Charlene September 1, 2010 at 10:35 AM

Thank you Scott. I did make that note on the post but there are Safeway stores around the country and my CA readers are actually just a small minority. So Safeway shoppers in other states can certainly take advantage.

Charlene September 1, 2010 at 10:38 AM

No I don’t. Savemart cats are tricky because there is so little interest in that chain it is hard to get a list of cats together. Sometimes they have overlapping ones with Safeway.

My Albertson’s has Sargento and Borden cheese on sale but not Kraft.

bree September 1, 2010 at 10:57 AM

fyi-be careful if you are planning on using printable coupons at savemart. they are really on the look out for fraudulent coupons and they wouldn’t even try to scan my coupons for the cereal that i actually printed off of the kelloggs website.

Annette September 1, 2010 at 11:45 AM

I used it at Albertsons this morning in two transactions- 5 bags each transaction. The coupon had some problems. The cashier scanned it and it said no matching items. Then she tried to override it and it wouldn’t let her. She was very nice and did something to manually push it through, but it was tricky. The catalina did print and it does roll into a second transaction. She was nice to push both coupons through, but I probably won’t try it again since the coupon gave such problems. I won’t even try it at my local Safeway as they have issues with printables already.

Is the cheese in the bags on sale at Albertsons because the paper says Kraft Singles? THank you

Kylene September 1, 2010 at 2:29 PM

Had problems with this one at Raley’s. Couldn’t use it because it said items exceeds coupon limit. Oh well. If someone actually gets to use this coupon without it having to be manually pushed through please lets use know what products you bought.

Charlene September 1, 2010 at 2:31 PM

You know you might send Kraft a note or post on the FB wall. Often these companies just don’t understand when their coupons are problematic.

Kylene September 1, 2010 at 2:47 PM

Just got off the phone with Kraft Foods. If you are having problems with the coupons she said to email them the issues with the coupon on the Kraft Foods website so that the people higher up will be aware and hopefully they can fix or change the coupon.

I had the same problem at check out (Meijer). When he scanned my coupon it said “it exceeds coupon limit”. He typed in the amt for 1 cheese thankfully I saw it and he changed it. The 2nd coupon went through without beeping. This was a great deal. Later this week I am going to VG’s with my $1 coupons (they double)for shredded cheese which will be .49 each. I will be stocked up on cheese for a few months! :-)

Charlene September 1, 2010 at 3:33 PM

Raeme- My understanding is that it is actually bags of shredded cheese or the blocks. I don’t shop at Albertson’s or have one in my area- so if you don’t see it in your ad just give your store a call and ask them for a price check.

Jordan September 1, 2010 at 9:43 PM

When I click on the “get coupon” button it brings me to “this page cannot be found”…any tips?

Jordan September 1, 2010 at 9:44 PM

nevermind! it worked :)

Nicole September 3, 2010 at 4:25 PM

I just got back from Winco, and they have the Kraft shredded bags for $1.48 (only certain flavors). The manager had to approve the coupon, but it worked! So, .48 each!!! It was the Roseville store, and the cashier was actually really nice today (doesn’t happen often at that store for me!)

Charlene September 3, 2010 at 4:48 PM

Nicole- another reader told me about that but I get scared to post anything for Winco :) I usually get a barrage of comments that Winco won’t accept IPs or people were denied the coupons etc… That is an AWESOME deal!

Jennifer P September 3, 2010 at 9:56 PM

I am in AZ and the 8oz shreds or blocks were not marked $2, the singles are, but I don’t need those, so I will have to do a price check :) thanks
