I have a lot of Safeway deals for you guys that I will be posting tonight so stay tuned!

In the meantime, here is trip #2.  I went to Target, Rite Aid and Safeway to check out some prices and things today.

RITE AID: .48

C. Booth item I told you about here

Will get $2 rebate back.

SAFEWAY: $16.84

Oye this was a massive pain.  I went to a new store and discovered the Nature Valley Granola Thins ARE part of the catalina offer but ARE NOT part of the $1.49 sale this week. So I bought everything and had to return it all when they rang up at $3.99 a box!  The were cut into the shelf at my store but did not have any tags on them.

2 Starbucks Double Shots $2.69 (marked at $2.19 on shelf- boo Safeway!)- Used BOGO coupon= $1.34 each
Kix Cereal $1.49- used $.75/1 coupon= .74
2 Progresso Soups .99 with in ad coupon- used .50/2 coupon , plus had a .50/2 e-coupon= .49 each
2 La Victoria Salsa $2 each- Used $1/2 coupon= $1.50 each
Mission Tortillas $1.99- Used $.75 coupon and .55 e-coupon= .69
Blue Diamond Almond Milk $3.29
2 Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage $1.99- Used (2) .55/1 coupons= $1.44 each
Fontina Cheese $4.46

I used a $3 cat from last time and got another $3 cat for the Almond Milk.

TARGET: $3.32

Bought 4 Mott’s All Natural Applesauce at $1.50 each- used $2/2 coupons from Safeway MDA booklet= .50 each
Market Pantry Bread $.85- used .50/1 Target coupon= .35
Salt and Pepper .97

I had about $17 left to spend from rebate checks that came in.  I spent $20.64 so just a little over budget but what a great shopping trip!

Awesome! The Starbucks are $2 this week at CVS–Or at least in the So Cal ad..not sure how your ad is this week. I bought some today and I have to say, they don’t seem as good as the fraps. 🙁

My Safeway (in Davis) has overcharged me for doubleshots twice in the past two months. It pays to keep an eye out on those. But they’re not following policy — the last time I went back in, schlepping both kids to customer service — they only gave me the difference in price. According to corporate customer service, I should have been refunded the full price. FYI for the future.

Ok, so I’m thinking time line here. You must plan your menu before monday right? You look at all the coupons and store deals, sit down for a few hours and plan right? Is this a saturday thing? And then you shop on sunday? Do you go to all those grocery stores on one day? From your posts it seems like you hit a new store each day….how do you have time for this?

And yes I’m still amazed you manage to feed the family for $50/week. You would die if you saw my grocery bill. And we eat it all! But you are helping give me a goal and new tactics to reach it!

at my safeway, schick hydro 3 was on clearance. regular price $9.99 then 50% off. but at the register the hydro 3 rang up as 7.49 and then 50% off which equals 3.75 then if you still have the $5 off coupon from sunday papers (sorry dont remember which coupon insert), free hydro 3! this may be only my safeway, but doesn’t hurt to check out if you’re heading to safeway anyways. i found it on the clearance table with a bunch of other stuff.

Ha I just taped my vlogs Shira 🙂 Funny I had to really think what I do. So every week changes because we are crazy in this house every day BUT for the most part I plan it out on Sat and shop Sat night. I usually take 2 hours on Sat night to do it- now that would be way less if I wasn’t also scouting deals for MFA and if I had a decent grocery store. Mine are expensive so I have to go to more stores. Luckily they are all right next to each other (literally). Sometimes I go back out- like this week we ran out of milk so that was trip #1. Then my main trip. And then I would not have gone again except I needed to check prices at Rite Aid and Safeway for the blog.

@Erin- whoops forgot those! I forgot the soup too which was free. I told Milo he was very fancy since he has pink and purple purses now to hold his treats.

Were you able to use the B1G1 coupon on the Double shots, or just the doubleshots + energy? Thanks!
