Safeway Deals 8/25

safeway logo

You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!

If it does work, here is your deal:

Buy 5 at $1.99
Use (2) $1/2 coupons
Final Price: $7.95 and get a $3 cat back- for a net of $4.95 or .99 each!

Any other great deals I missed?

Off the top of my head – our Kraft price is different and the cheese. The Kraft for us is $1.19 this weekend, I believe. So – isn’t there a Kraft promo going? If you bought 5 of these and used either the $.35 peelies or the $1.00 off from the Safeway book – then that would be a good deal!!

Safeway promo book:
5 Kraft Dressings @ $1.19
5 $1.00 coupons
= $.95 for five dressings
Plus get a $5 cat back

Right?

Nicole August 25, 2010 at 8:21 AM

I am so frustrated with my Safeway! My $2.00 e-coupon for the chicken didn’t come off (they NEVER do), so I gave him the printed coupon. It scanned, but beeped, so he couldn’t do anything. The line was long and the manager wasn’t around, so I will be making another little visit with my reciept and coupon!

Charlene ~ have you ever gotten an explination from Safeway about their e-coupons, and why they never work?

Charlene August 25, 2010 at 8:33 AM

No Nicole, I emailed and they ignored my email. Maybe you can post on FB? I had that same issue with the Rancher’s Reserve beef. The lady kept telling me no because the bar code was wrong. I think she wound up scanning it twice because even though my receipt did not reflect the discount, the meat I bought was $7.86 and I paid $3.86. You can try having them enter the code instead of scanning it.

Hey Charlene…..that Blue Diamond Milk cat is still running, right? So, I could buy the honey nut cheerios along with the milk and get the cat back, yes? I think I remember you saying it was good on ANY cereal.

Amy T. August 25, 2010 at 9:00 AM

Oh, and there is a $1/2 coupon good on ANY nabisco cookies or crackers. I can’t remember the link, but it was with that $1/2 kraft cheese coupon you posted last week. Should work for the snack packs, right?

Charlene August 25, 2010 at 9:00 AM

Yeah Amy that is right. I have not had a chance to double check all the cats for expiration dates and see what deal ideas I have. I will do that when my children aren’t running wild. I have to check the Kraft cheese too. The cat list is updated though- I did that last night.

rnmom21 August 25, 2010 at 9:34 AM

AZ ad looks a bit different. Starbucks ice cream is included in the mix and match. Also, isn’t there a cat running for the Ben & Jerry’s?
By the way, Blue Diamond cat was still going as of last night.

Michelle August 25, 2010 at 10:08 AM

The Starbucks Bottled has a coupon for $1/1 at http://www.frappuccino.com/drink-builder/bottled?b=1#

Michelle August 25, 2010 at 10:40 AM

Maybe I have just gotten lucky, but so far I have not had any problems with my e-coupons coming off my purchase @ Safeway (or maybe it was just the ones I had loaded…)

But, I do have a questions about the cats – Can you really only use 1 per purchase @ Safeway? There is nothing on it that says that, but last week I tried to use 2 and the lady said I could only use 1 per purchase…

Charlene August 25, 2010 at 11:17 AM

Michelle- I think she made that up :) There is nothing in the coupon policy that says that and I personally have used multiples more times than I can remember.

Amy T. August 25, 2010 at 11:50 AM

Here is the link for the nabisco crackers/cookies…..Today I bought 4 snack packs and used two coupons, which made each bag only 49 cents!

Charlene August 25, 2010 at 12:09 PM

Ok you all are on the ball this week! I think I made all the updates- and I checked online and Starbucks is listed as part of the ice cream deal.

Carla- the Cheese cat ended on 8/15. For those that live near Raley’s, I found tearpads a few days ago with $1/2 cheese coupons!

Amy T. August 25, 2010 at 12:57 PM

Totally off the subject…..there is a $2 president feta cheese coupon here: http://greatcheese.com/cookout/coupon.php

Plus lots of other high value cheese coupons! Forgive me if you’ve already posted about it. This is the first time I’ve seen them.

Stacey August 25, 2010 at 2:47 PM

I have had similar problems with Safeway coupons, both ones I’ve printed and loaded. I called customer service about my eCoupons not working, and the rep acted shocked, like he had never heard of this problem before. He said there were 2 places he could look to see what I had loaded on my card. The chicken and shrimp coupons appeared in one place, but not the other, which was why they weren’t coming off. Fortunately he was willing to call the store manager and have a refund waiting for me. He said the IT department would fix the problem, so I’ll just have to wait and see next time…

rnmom21 August 25, 2010 at 3:29 PM

I was in Safeway today for an emergency cat litter run, when I noticed an ad for a free pack of bakery cookies, 20 count, when you buy the 4 pack starbucks coffee bottles. Should make for a sweet deal this weekend when paired with the $1 coupon from that silver starbucks coupon book. Did anyone else see this ad in their store?

It turned out to be a good trip as some crazy shopper left a $2 OYNO cat in the shopping cart. I made good use of it.

Sheri August 25, 2010 at 7:11 PM

rnmom21: I saw that ad also – it was stuck between two stacks of the Starbucks drinks on the floor and was really really hard to see – probably not the best display I’ve ever seen ! I was going to try to snag some this weekend also!

Tiffany August 26, 2010 at 7:34 AM

I have an idea for the Kraft Mac N Cheese. If you bought 3 of the 5pks, each w/peelies for free Capri Sun, wouldn’t those 3 qualify you for the 2 free snacks too? So 8.97 for 15 pks Mac n Chz, 3 boxes Capri Sun and 2 boxes of snacks of your choice, .45/item.

Charlene August 26, 2010 at 7:38 AM

Tiffany I was thinking the same thing. I don’t know the specifics of those peelies because I have never used one- but if you got lucky and found them!

Shawn M. August 26, 2010 at 9:21 AM

Chaquita singles are still $1. If you still have some of the $1/1 tear pads that were found at Safeway (or Randalls, in my case) a few weeks ago, then you have FREE fruit singles :-)

Shawn M. August 26, 2010 at 11:30 AM

Tiffany, I don’t know about your ad, but mine states there is a limit of (2) on the 5pk Mac & Cheese. Dang it! I sure was hoping to grab up this deal.

Charlene August 26, 2010 at 11:46 AM

Shawn still a good deal. If you found the peelies it would look like this:

Buy 2 Mac and Cheese at $2.99
Buy 2 Capri Sun $2.68
Buy 1 other juice at $2
Use (2) Free Capri Sun peelies
Final Price: $7.98 for 2 Capri Sun, 1 64oz Juice (Mott’s or Tree Top), 10 boxes of Mac and Cheese, 2 free snack items of choice.

That would be an excellent deal.

or you could

Buy 1 Mac and Cheese at $2.99
Buy 1 Capri Sun at $2.69
Buy 2 Mott’s at $2
Use Free CS peelie
Use $2/2 Mott’s
Final Price: $4.99 for the 5pk of Mac and Cheese, 2 Mott’s, 1 Capri Sun and 2 boxes of snacks.

Christine August 26, 2010 at 3:52 PM

re: the e-coupons not working I noticed when I just enter my phone number it doesn’t work but when I scan my card it does. Are you using your card or typing in your phone number?

Also, not seeing the bread coupon in the grill book? have I lost my mind?

Charlene August 26, 2010 at 4:08 PM

No Christine. All these books have me messed up. It is the sandwich book with the produce coupon not the grilling one.

jessica August 26, 2010 at 9:41 PM

Just noticed a lot of people commenting about the safeway ecoupons. The ones loaded from the Safeway site for Safeway brands dont’ show up on the receipt like cellfire or shortcuts. The item is just automatically priced lower. Don’t know if this is true for non-Safeway brands, but be sure to check prices on receipt to see if ecoupon came off.

Scott August 28, 2010 at 7:14 PM

I had luck with 3 Mac n’ Cheese with the peelies for the free Capri Suns and got the two Quaker granola bars.

domonique August 28, 2010 at 7:47 PM

Okay so, I work at safeway and I’m a checker. I just wanted to let you all know that yes the blue diamond catalina is still going (at least it was today) I had at least 3 people that got one…Also, I have noticed that my ecoupons only work when I use my card (not my phone number), I haven’t had any problems with my ecoupons coming off ever since I started running my card manually…also it might matter if they total the order before running any of your other coupons. I think sometimes when they don’t come off it’s because we use a coupon for the same item and the ecoupon thinks that it doesn’t have to be used or something…

Sherry August 29, 2010 at 8:57 AM

Does anyone know the coupon policy on BOGO items? I see the Edge and Skintamte is buy one get one free and I have 75 cent coupons and was wondering if they would allow you to use 2? They double here so that may be a good deal. I haven’t been to the store to check the regular price of them yet.

Charlene August 29, 2010 at 9:03 AM

Sherry the official policy is that you can not use a coupon on a free item.

Carla August 29, 2010 at 2:35 PM

I use my card and my Safeway ecoupons don’t work.

Jordan August 29, 2010 at 9:12 PM

I have had trouble finding the MDA coupon book and the Sandwich coupon book. Does anyone have tips on where these might be located? I’ve gone as far as asking customer service at least a couple of times and no one seems to know what I’m talking about. Even though they ask for a donation for the MDA thing every time I check out, hmmmm interesting!

Lori August 30, 2010 at 1:58 PM

I spoke with customer service today re: the safeway coupons. Interestingly, the rep could see all coupons EXCEPT the Safeway coupons. Ie, she could see the huggies coupon, but not the coupon for $0.30 off nectarines. She tried adding it to her card, with the same result. She has a query in to the software guys, said she would call me back when she hears something.

In the meantime – I think I’ll go buy a bag of Huggies before they go off sale, and see if the ecoupon comes off.

Michelle August 31, 2010 at 12:27 PM

My p&g e-coupon for charmin didn’t come off. Who do I contact about this issue?

Charlene August 31, 2010 at 12:36 PM

Michelle, You can just go to the e-coupon page for P&G and I am sure there is contact information available.
