Menu Plan Monday

08/15/2010

Here is the plan for this week. I have had a lot of questions about how I plan my shopping trips and how I get a week of meals from my trips, so I will have a 2 part vlog coming your way soon.

In the meantime, here is the plan for this week:

MONDAY: Roasted Chicken and Parmesan couscous

TUESDAY: Broccoli Cheddar Soup

WEDNESDAY: Spaghetti with Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese

THURSDAY: Southern Tomato Pie and Cucumber Salad

FRIDAY: Taco Salad

SATURDAY: Spicy Chicken Tortilla Skillet

SUNDAY: Steak Fajitas with Mexican Rice

I was short on time this week, so nothing terribly exciting.  I am also going to make a blackberry cobbler.  Yum!

I’m looking forward to you vlogs. The hardest part for me is to figure out what to make out of the crazy stuff in my pantry. I tend to go for all the deals, and sometimes come up short in the creative meal deptartment. Thanks for all your great tips!

I absolutely love your website! If you wouldn’t mind sharing, I would love your Broccoli Cheddar Soup recipe. I have tried several recipes and can’t seem to find one that my family really loves. But I would love to try your tried and true recipe! Thanks!

Karen- it is incredibly depressing actually. I used to have the best broccoli cheddar soup recipe ever from a magazine. It was a victim of our move and I can’t find it anywhere. Now I am trying different ones from Food Network but nothing is even close.

I am going to try this one and I will just sneak a little cheddar in:

Looks like the recipe gets great reviews on their website, what did you think? I know what you mean about losing a favorite recipe. I lost my favorite Peanut butter cookie recipe years ago, and can’t find one that compares to my original one. Have you ever been on the allrecipes.com website? I love this one! I will usually find a great recipe, read the reviews and tweek it by using everyone’s comments and then try the recipe. I have found a lot of really great recipes from that site. I also love that I can save recipes to my recipe box and try them later.
