I will have your regular Office Max and Office Depot deals in just a bit. In the meantime, here are some great deals on bigger ticket items:
Office Depot has this Brother Fax machine on sale this week for $19.99. I actually have this fax myself and it is perfect for just simple home use.
You can purchase through Ebates and get 2% cash back plus a $5 bonus for new accounts. Be sure to select in store pick up or you will also need to pay shipping. The item number is 768320.

They also have this Brother All in One printer marked down this week from $99 to $49. It looks like the reviews are excellent. If anyone has this one can you tell us what the ink tends to run?
Shipping is free on a $50 order so I would go through Ebates first and enter Office Depot and then item #669357. Add one small item (like erasers or pencils or pens) to get over $50 and your shipping is free.
You will get 2% back from Ebates plus a $5 bonus for new accounts.

Office Max has this little label maker on sale this week for $14.99 from $29.99. Many times the stores will run out of inventory- so you might call before you head out. My Sunday paper has a bag inside and says get 20% off any item that fits in the bag. That brings the price down to $11.99. (Item #21079404)

Office Depot has a TI-83 Plus Graphing Calculator on sale this week. It is priced at $99.99 and there is a $15 mail in rebate bringing your cost down to $84.99. Shipping should be free and Ebates has 2% back. (Item # 905739)

Finally Office Depot has this little Brother P-Touch labeler for $9.99 this week marked down from $37. You can buy it online (item #669393) and pick up in store to save on shipping. Again, I would call ahead if you don’t order online because the stores tend to sell out of these types of deals early. Ebates has 2% back and a $5 bonus for new accounts.
Happy Back to School shopping!

I have a brother 4-in-1 printer – it’s a MFC-240C and it looks just like the one you have pictured. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this machine! I’ve used all 4 functions with ease but it handles all my coupon printing with beautifully. I buy my printer ink online from 4inkjets.com and I buy the compatable cartridges and have never had a problem with them. I can buy a 10 pack for 39.99 or so and that lasts me at least a year or more with heavy coupon printing as well as other household uses. I do not print photos so I can’t attest to how it handles those. I’ve had this printer for almost 3 years now. I’d jump on this deal if your in the market for a printer. Hope this helps someone.

I have a similar model of all-in-one printer, also a Brother printer – the MFC-495.
The cartridges run out fairly quickly unless you know the secret: there will actually still be tons of ink left in the cartridge. You need to locate the little plastic window on the cartridge that shows the ink level, and cover it with black tape (plumber’s tape is perfect). Then put the cartridge back in, and it will last at least twice as long that way.
There are many, many printer models/makes that will say the ink has run out before it does. Just do a web search for your printer model, and you can usually find a forum where people will talk about the work-arounds.

I like Brother printers and have had many of them. I get ink on ebay or another discount refill seller for $1-3 depending on how many you buy. The problem I have had with every one of them is that at some point they all stop feeding paper. ARGH!

If you are looking at the TI-83 calculator, you might want to spend $5 more and purchase the TI-84 plus silver edition. The TI-84 has more capability than the TI-83, although this probably won’t make a difference to most students. Also, if you are planning on reselling the calculator after you are through with it, you will be able to sell the TI-84 for more money than the TI-83.

I also have a similar model: the Brother MFC490CW … I like that the color cartridges are individual (more rebate $ at Staples!) It uses the Brother Innobella LC61 series ink. I think colors run in the $11-$13/ea range and the larger, black cartridge is about $23? I have been buying my ink lately with my Max Perks and Staples ink recycling vouchers. I have not had any trouble at all with my machine, so i would highly recommend it 🙂 Hope that helps!

Ok, I splurged…I just bought the Brother P-Touch labeler! 🙂 I am so excited!! I got the cute pink tape to go with it, and was able to use a 20% off Staples coupon (at Office Depot!) and they took my Star Teacher reward card 10% discount as well! 🙂 Woo hoo! (also, if anyone else is getting tape, check the price online first – they will price match to their own website in the store! 🙂

I just saw Danielle’s comment which trumps my 10% code, but I will post anyway in case someone can use it for online ordering.
I just ordered the Brother P-touch labeler for 9.99 and used coupon code 932378197 to get an additional 10% off. I’m picking it up at the store, so no shipping. Total $9.73. 🙂
