CLOSED. Giveaway: Cisco Valet Router

08/13/2010

Share

The Valet is  a new wireless router made just for people who are intimated by the traditional router. For those of us who may not be super tech savvy, this router has made it easy. You simply plug in a USB key and it does all the work for you.  Not only is it a reliable, solid router – it offers built in parental controls.

As a Mom of 2 little girls (who will be on the Internet sooner than I would like to think), the Internet security feature of the The Valet, is one I welcome.  I cannot imagine being worried about what websites my girls might visit or how long they will try to stay online at night. If you have a teenager, this is a great way to control the Internet usage, without putting software on the computer.

The Valet is made by the company who brought us the Flip video camcorders and it comes from  Cisco, a router brand that people know and trust. Along with its super easy setup, the Valet creates a guest network to go along with your main network. This gives your friends and family the ability to connect to the guest network – without disrupting your network.

If you would like to win the Cisco Valet, you get 3 chances to win!

This giveaway will run through Wednesday at seven PST.  Please be sure to leave a comment by clicking on comments in the lower right corner of this post.  (If you are viewing in a reader or on Facebook please click through to the blog to comment).  No entries via email, Facebook or Twitter will be considered.

My favorite feature is how easy to use it is for visitors. They can just plug it into their laptop and be ready to surf!

Frankly it had me at wireless easy connection…I bought a wireless router and returned it because I couldn’t get it to function. I was THIS close to calling in the Geek squad, but just gave up the whole idea. I’d love to roam around my home connected to the net, yet not need the Geek squad to do it
