The Staples ad for next week is an especially good one. There are great Back to School deals at CVS, Walgreens and Staples next week. Even if the kiddos aren’t going back for weeks you might keep your eye on these deals as they are pretty incredible!

Hi Charlene, can you tell me what kind of rebate is this? As cheque or in-store cash?
Charlene says
No I will always say if it is for in store credit- personally I don’t really think those are rebates when you don’t get your money back 😉 These are checks they will mail out so a true rebate. You enter your info online and it is a very simple and quick process.

If u have already gotten a rebate for the printer paper can u do it again every time the offer comes around?
Charlene says
Yes you sure can!

I was thinking about buying myself the $29.99 computer chair and a 1 cent item, then using the $5 off coupon. Does $25 sound like a good deal for a small computer chair like that?

This is my 1st year doing early shopping for school supplies and couponing! YAY ME! Anyway so here I go with all my questions…..
1.) I wanted to know if the pocket folders are the ones with brackets?
2.) Are the pencils reliable because I just bought some Walgreens brand and they SUCK!.
3.) Is there a card I need to have to get the rebates? How long does it take for your refunds to come back?
Charlene says
Isabeau, if they let you use the Office Depot coupon for $10 off $25 I posted this morning than you really have yourself a deal! I bought a chair from Staples not too long ago and they had a hard sell on a warranty for $10. It is something like if the chair is damaged or torn or anything you get the full value refunded- be prepared for the sales pitch 🙂

I wonder if Staples will have the free backpacks again this year? I got one last year and donated it, but was hoping to be able to plan far enough ahead this year if they do it again to get my college son one. I know it took awhile for the credit to come and had to be in store credit, but you could get any backpack up to I think $100. There were some really nice ones last year that you could have even used for camping etc. Please let us know if any of you hear about that program again this year.
Charlene says
Umm.. I don’t know about the first two questions but if you click through to the ad you might get a better look at the folders. For Staples I don’t think you have to have the Rewards card but it is worthwhile to have and it is totally free. The .01 pencils looked like the kind you sharpen so I can’t imagine how they would stink. The mechanical ones for $1 I am not sure about- you can always buy them at Target instead with the $1/2 Target coupon for Bic items and probably pay close or a few cents more. Bic should be better quality.
For some reason the Staples web site is down for me at this second but if you go to staples.com they should have info on the Rewards program somewhere at the top of the site.
Charlene says
Mary- these ads are usually leaked and I already saw the one for the week after next and it had them at 50% off.
Elizabeth says
Thanks Charlene…for .01 on the pencils ill try them out. I just dont want them to be like the ones I just bought. They also are the ones you sharpen but the lead breaks super easy so you have to keep sharpening them. Maybe when I get home ill see the full ad…I’am at work with nothing to do..lol…and cant view the website because my company only shops with Office Depot and they block other sites off…lol…grrrr

Do rebates printout for your transaction? i.e. if I purchase two reams of paper and two pencils (your $30 scenario, less $10 office coupon) – you said you get $29.98 in rebates?
Charlene says
The rebate form will print out on your receipt. That form you can either mail in to Staples or you can follow the directions and submit your information online. I noted two items that have rebates this week:
Staples Paper $4.99- SUN-WED Only
Get $4.98 rebate
Final Price: .01 (limit 2)
Photo Paper $14.99
Get $13.99 rebate
Final Price: $1 (limit 2)
Since the limit is 2 on the photo paper- if you purchase 2 of them you will get $29.98 back in a rebate check.

the 1 cent deals are with a $5 minimum purchase

Charlene,
You may want to check the dollar book shelves at the font of the store near the registers. I was able to find a couple of good books for the kids for a dollar each – one looked like the face of a gorilla and if you open the mouth (that is the book) it explains about the gorilla. The other one is a puzzle and a book. Cool cheap gifts for kids.

I found an AWESOME deal in their clearance section at the front of the store. They had 6 packs of Avery name badge labels that you can run through your computer and print on them. They were $2.50 a pack….with a label on the front that said there was a month long rebate on them for $5 EACH! Limit 10!!! I bought all 6 of them (I wish I could have found more of them).
I also bought two packs of the pencils, 10 folders, two packs of the paper on sale, and one pack of the photo paper on sale…total came to $36.04 after using my $5 off $30 coupon (I wish now that I’d printed two of the Office Depot coupons and made an extra $5!!). I just entered my rebates and after rebates I am making a profit of $17.91! 😀

My Staples took the Office Depot coupons, but insisted that they had to be used on something that the $10/25 coupon be used on something that cost at least $10. My husband and I split the transaction into two, and picked up a few filler items to bring each total to $25.
Management tried to say that we had copies of coupons and disallow it, but I told her they were printed off the Office Depot website. Even gave one out to the woman behind me, who was buying a chair! (We got to talking, and I pointed her to this website for more tips!)
