Target Outdoor Clearance

Tis my favorite time of year at Target ya’ll!!  Outdoor furniture clearance time!  I heard from several of you that had stores with 75% off already.  My store is only at 30% as of today.

Here are some tips for scoring sweet deals on outdoor stuff:

:: It goes fast so you need to be on your A game.

:: Every store will be different (I have 5 in my area and not two of them are alike) so you can call ahead to your store and ask what the clearance is at right now and when they mark down.  As a general rule most smaller stores will mark down quickly and larger stores have more room and time to hold out.

:: You can see my Target clearance schedule post, typically Wednesday is the day they will mark this stuff down (but again you can just call your store and ask!)

:: 75% off it basically the lowest things will go- in warmer climates I am sure most inventory will be snatched up at 30%.

Two years ago I got a ton of outdoor pieces at Target on 75% off day.  I can tell you I was at the store at 10am and it looked like Black Friday so you want to try and get there as early as you can.  My store did not have grills marked down yet but they did have small camping type portable grills 30% off.

Also, I spotted a lot of clearance in the kids area and storage areas in home goods.  This is a great time to get items for any new college students.  I usually try to wait for 50-75% off on all this stuff as we can never have too many storage containers in the MFA house.  The storage tubs above were just $4.48 with 30% off clearance!

Let us know what you find at your store!

We bought a patio dining set a week ago from Target. As almost always happens with items that you can’t inspect before purchasing (4 chairs in a box) we had a wobbly chair. I called my local store and they had a floor model that I could swap it with. This was exactly one week from the date that we bought the set. And yes, it was all marked down 30%! I asked if I could get a price adjustment and they said ‘not on clearance.’ SO I went back to the outdoor area and found my exact set of chairs in the box. I spoke to a manager and explained that I understood that they wouldn’t give me a price adjustment but what I was going to do was then purchase the set of chairs at the lower price and then walk them right over to the returns area and return them with my full price receipt. She was mad. So I told her she could either just do a return and new purchase or I’d have them drag the box to the front for me. I wouldn’t have made a big deal but it was an $82 difference! Anyway, had to share. 🙂

Rachelle we didn’t have any either. I literally lost my mind 2 years ago and went to FIVE stores in a day 😛 I got 2 Adirondack chairs, a loveseat, a rug, Smith and Hawkin Table set with 6 chairs (super nice), and an extra coffee table- all outdoor stuff for $300 total. I thought it was quite a deal 🙂

p.s. I just called 3 of my area stores (Seattle area) and they’re all at 30% off. I need an umbrella for my new outdoor set – any advice on finding a decent one at a good price?

Well Rite Aid gave them away for free last year with coupons 😛 I would call your Target Tuesday night and see if they are marking outdoor down again- usually it is 30,50, 75 each week. Otherwise one secret is to look at nicer grocery stores- like Raley’s in my area. It is sort of like a nicer QFC- what is that store up there- Top? Or something? Anyway- they have outdoor stuff that they mark down and since no one is looking for outdoor sets they often just sit and get marked down and marked down again. Otherwise you can watch for sales at Lowe’s and HD and print that 10% off HD movers coupon I posted.

I found the storage items you have pictured above. I got a hot pink one for a baby shower 😉
I found two other units I was going to use as litter pans but they are a few inches smaller than what we use. So I put all my stockpiled paper goods in them 🙂

At my Target some stuff was 30% off, some stuff was 50% off (Northern northern CA). I asked one of the asst. managers if it would be another week before stuff was marked down again and she said not necessarily since it is seasonal stuff it could be marked down again any day, depending on corporate. Just an FYI not to wait too long to check back.
