If you have had your eye on a Kindle, Amazon dropped the price to $189. This also has free 2 day shipping.

Barnes and Noble has also dropped the price of the Nook to $149. You can have a look HERE. Shipping is also free.
Does anyone have either of these and can give us your thoughts? I have been thinking about getting one just so I can maybe start actually reading books again!

Love my kindle and the ease of downloading books from Amazon!
I LOVE my Nook! It’s great for when I’m waiting on the kids, at appointments, or just on the go. The ability to practically carry a library in my purse is awesome! The Nook also has an airplane mode that turns the wireless feature off, and makes it last longer between charges. I don’t go anywhere without it!
I love my kindle.
I love my kindle. I find I actually read more and it is so portable. I throw it in my purse and if I’m at an appt waiting I can just pull it out and read. Of course I just got mine 2 months ago so I’m a little upset that they droped the price as I paid $259 for it.
I’m holding out for color capabilities and a back light. I wonder if a new generation is coming out soon and that’s the reason for the price cut????
I love my Kindle! I was at a taping of The View in NYC and it was one of our free gifts from the show but I love it. You can also check out websites on it too, I google a lot on it because it’s internet connection is really good
I have the Sony Reader and I love it! The Reader stands out from the Kindle because you can borrow e-books from your library if your library carries e-books. I don’t have to worry about picking up or dropping off books, I just check out and return from my computer!
I just returned my Nook. I have the eReader software on my laptop and my Blackberry. The Blackberry version is great for when I have to wait for something – the doctor’s office, etc. Otherwise I read ebooks on my laptop.
I get most of my books from the library and buy very few books. The day my Nook arrived in the mail, the library emailed that three of the books I reserved were in.
Yesterday morning, I went on the BN web site to buy and download the new Jane Green book and found it is only available as an ebook from Amazon. Can’t get it from Borders or BN. That did it. I marched over the BN to get my $274 back.
The Whole Green catalog says you would have to buy 1,000 books for an eReader to make saving the paper from traditional books more earth-friendly than an ereader. EReaders are full of precious metals.
FYI – The $149 version Nook doesn’t have 3G. Borders has a similar eReader coming out next week for $149. I think that prompted the price war.
