CVS Trip

I actually stopped into CVS just to check prices on a few deals for next week.  I got a $4/20 coupon at the scanner that I decided to make use of.  (I got one on my husband’s card too- so check if you are planning a trip!)

I got a $3/1 Coppertone coupon as well from the scanner so here is the quick scenario I put together:

2 Sally Hansen polish on clearance for $1.25 and $1.62 each
Powerbar .99
3 Pampers .87 (on clearance)
Coppertone $10.49
DiGiorno Pizza $3.69

Use $4/20 CVS coupon
Used Free Digiorno coupon I have been dragging around for ages
Used $4/1 Coppertone coupon
Used $3/1 Coppertone CVS coupon

Final Price was $7.02 and I got .99 ECB back for Powerbars. Not great but not bad either! Just one of the Sally Hansen was regularly $7.

I cannot believe you are still getting those clearance wipes! THe day that you announced the clearance, I went to the 6 closest CVS’s and was only able to find one of the 3-packs for 1.87! People cleared the shelves fast around here!

Oh – I wanted to mention this, too. I went to CVS Sunday night and saw a ton of Pantene, L’oreal Vive, and Men’s Nivea on clearance for 1.25. I had coupons so I got the stuff and the cashier told me I couldn’t use coupons on clearance items. I was totally floored but he insisted that was the policy. He was very nice but did not honor my coupons and there was a huge line so I didn’t want to call a mgr. So I wrote to CVS.com and asked them if that is indeed their policy. They replied that it wasn’t and apologized for my experience. They said they’d fix the problem. I got a call from the store manager today, who was so so so nice. We discussed the situation and he told me he did not want to lose me as a CVS customer (YEAH RIGHT!!! Like I’d ever leave my precious CVS LOL) . He told me not only do they take coupons on clearance items, but he told me that they take coupons past the expiry date and coupons for substituted items (like when they are out of something that’s on sale, they’ll give a sub and take the coupon anyway). I don’t know if this is CVS sorporate policy and it sounds way too good to be true but wow! I will never rush out at 11 pm on the day that a coupon expires again! He said if I ever have another issue, to let him know and he will handle it. He was so nice and assured me he’d coach the cashier and that he wouldn’t get in any sort of trouble.

The best part? He’s sending me a $25 gift card!!!

CVS…have I told you lately that I love you?

Do you believe that? Just sitting there lovely and waiting for MFA. I wasn’t greedy last time and even left some and apparently they were destined to be mine 😉

What an amazing experience for you- I can guarantee that wouldn’t have happened at Wags 😛

WOW! I didn’t know that you could get another card for your husband??? Cool. I never thought, since it says ‘one per household’.

Lori, I think that changed. I am absolutely certain when I got my cards it was one per person and I think they changed it.

I have a CVS card for my husband and myself as well Lori. I think his moms address is on file though. I dont know if that makes a difference. One thing I just figured out I cant do is call on his account, ya knw, with any questions. Even though we are married they cant release any info to me. Weird that they are so strict on that but its okay. I LOVE LOVE my CVS!
