Here is this week’s shopping trip.  We still have some cauliflower, eggplant, red potatoes and apricots to eat so I didn’t need a lot of produce this week.

As usual we don’t have any great supermarkets here so I just made lots of small trips throughout the week as I was running other errands.

You can click below to see the breakdown of my trips.  I spent a grand total of $59.71.  My budget is $50 per week but I did get two rebate checks this week which I added back into my budget.  I can also submit for a $10 rebate from Kraft so overall this wasn’t too bad.

RALEYS: $24.58

10lbs ground beef $16.75
24 pack water- free (plus $1.20 CRV)
2 Diet Soda .99 each
London Broil $4.88
Feta Cheese Spread $4.99- used free item coupon
3 Food Should Taste Good Chips $1.99 each- used $1 coupon

I also used a catalina that I had from a prior trip.

NUGGET Market: $9.00

4 Jamba Juice Frozen Smoothies $2.50- used (4) $1/1 coupons
6 Annies Mac and Cheese $1- Used (6) .50 coupons

COSTCO: $13.59

Bananas $1.32
2 gallons milk $4.49
Rosemary French Bread $4.49
Salad $3.29

RITE AID: $2.97

Bought 3 bags Pistachios at .99 after coupon

TARGET:

I did 5 transactions total because this week I wanted to keep rolling gift cards. I am planning to do a vlog soon to show how that all works.

This the what I got in total from Target:

3 boxes Kashi Cereal
2 boxes Kashi Crackers
4 Venus Razors
4 Nabisco 100 Packs
3 Homestyle Mac and Cheese
4 Oscar Mayer lunchmeat
2 Ovaltine
1 4pk GE lightbulbs
1 Rimmel lipstick

I also used (2) $5 gift cards from Target that I had to begin with and I can now submit for the $10 rebate from Kraft for spending $30 (precoupon).

    Inspiring!
I can’t wait to see the break down of the Target trip and how they handled the Kraft coupons. I hope to make a run later this week.

Definitely inspiring. Do you include toiletries and cleansers in your $50 budget or just food? I have found it hard to stay to that slim of a budget.

I went to safeway and got about 5 things. 40. amazing! That puts us in the halfway point of our budget for the week. The ground beef was pretty cheap(2 per lb!!!)

but i also bought the window cleaning thing from windex. Should have bought it at target(sigh)

Joanna I do too but I used to spend $30 last year! Yikes that was hard. Yes I include everything except I stopped including diapers a few months ago. I happen to have toiletries and cleaning supplies up the wazoo because of drug store deals. Now I simply refuse to buy any more because it gets to be ridiculous when you have 2 people and 15 deodorants. This time of year it is hard for me to stick to $50 because I love all the fresh seasonal fruits especially and a lot of the less expensive stuff is from Mexico. I will pay more for Organic or for local produce.

I just buy a lot when it is cheap and stock up- so like the Annies Mac and Cheese was .50 each and that will last me at least 2 months or more. The Food Should Taste Good chips I have 5 bags now I have been getting for .99 and those will last at least 6 weeks.

Does the kraft rebate have to be all on one transaction??

Know what I love about Raleys? They cut that big chub of beef into 2lb increments for me, no charge. Then they marinated the London Broil for me, free of charge. Worth every penny!

The Kraft Rebate starts today (the 23rd) right?

    Hey Charlene,

Do you ever shop at any of our local Farmers Markets? Do you find they have better prices than the store? I like to support the local guys, but I’m not willing to exceed my budget too often to do it!

Madeline I go to the Whole Foods one every so often but I find the selection so limited and the prices so high… I have been to Denios as well and that was not so great. I think the one at Kaiser might be coming back and I might check that out. Otherwise I just really stick to a 5 mile radius of the house and I find it hard to drive anywhere else. I know you can do the farmer’s Co-Op thing for $30 a week but I find it hard to plan a menu when I don’t know what I am going to get for the mail ingredients.

    Yes Sarah it starts today.

Oh Kendra I had to make a stink because when I very nicely asked them to cut the chub they said no 🙁 I was shocked because they are so service oriented. And that- well log- of beef is a little rude to walk around with. But the checkstand lady asked if I wanted it cut and when I told her they refused she stormed over and raised heck with them 🙂 Much easier to work with the smaller pieces for sure.

My Nob Hill (Raleys) has a big sign saying they will cut the larger package…weird that they wouldn’t.

Did you do the Target deals? I need to sit down and work it all out… maybe tomorrow.

Hi Charlene. I went to Albertsons this morning and bought $30 worth of Kraft items. However, with coupons, my total was significantly less than that. Can I still submit for the rebate since my receipt only shows that I spent $19 total? Or are they only looking for pre-coupon amounts? Thanks.

Goosemonkey it should be BEFORE coupons. I spent way less at Target too and I am going to submit. I was thinking I would wait a few days though because I am sure there will be Kraft on my list this weekend. I figure I will easily spend $30 after coupons in a few weeks so might as well be safe than sorry. Does that make sense? If you don’t think you will be buying any other Kraft items just send it away and make sure you circle the pre-coupon amount on your receipts.
