EDITED: I had to modify this slightly because the coupon is for a toilet cleaning gel not a refill. This scenario should be correct:
Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel is priced at $3.94.
There was also a coupon in the 5/9 SS for a $5 Target gift card when you buy 3 Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Brushes or Refills or cleaning gels.
So here is a deal idea:
Buy 2 Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Brushes at $6.29
Buy 2 Cleaning Gels at $3.94
Use (2) Free Brush when you buy a cleaning gel in 4/11 RP
Final Price: $7.88 and get a $5 gift card back!
*You may also be able to use (2) $1/1 Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel coupons from 3/21 SS (expires 5/16) and pay .98 for all 4 items! (Many cashiers have been refusing coupons with BOGO coupons at Target lately.)
If you haven’t submitted your (3) $5 rebates for SC Johnson– you can also get a $5 rebate back!
(You can also try to buy 6 and use 2 of the gift card coupons for a better deal if you think your Target will allow that!)

I did this deal yesterday but I did 3 toilet gels and 3 toilet brushes. I used 3 bogos (2 from 4/11 RP, one printed) and 3 $1/1. I then used 2 $5 gift card coupons. Total is $8.97 before tax and then get 2 $5 gift cards back…so a moneymaker if you have all those coupons!
I did this on Monday with the Buy One Toilet Cleaning Gel ($3.94) get one Fresh Brush 2-in-1 Starter Kit Free (up to a $6.10 value, they were price at $6.29. I used two BOGO coupons, they would not accept the $1.00 off Toilet cleaning Gel coupon. Received the five dollar gift card and submitted one of my three SCJ rebates. Makes it a MM!
Actually you have to buy the toilet cleaning gel, not the refill for the 2-n-1 brush. I was able to use $1 MQ on the cleaning gel and got two Target GC’s….good luck.
Ok thanks Jennifer I corrected that. So this scenario worked for you but you bought 6 items?
Do you have to take the Target coupon in, or is it in the computer?
I did this last month (sort of) with the $5 Target Giftcard when you buy 3 Scrubbing Bubbles products…..I bought 12, used 6 $2/2 Peelies, and 4 $5 Giftcard Coupons.
Scrubbing Bubbles Orange Spray was $2.49 each * 12 = 29.88
minus $12 in Coupons brings it to $17.88
and I got back $20 in Giftcards.
$2.12 Moneymaker, plus a $15 Rebate Submission!
The cashier was AWESOME! I did this all in ONE transaction without any problems. The register had her issue each $5 giftcard after she scanned the coupon. After I paid, she even took all 4 of the $5 Giftcards & combined them into a $20 giftcard for me.
TONS OF SCRUBBING BUBBLES! and A husband who thinks I am NUTS! I LOVE that spray–It smells great & works great for the baseboards of my home too!
This worked for me but I had to go to customer service. They had a hard time figuring it out because the gel that you pay for costs less($3.94) that the brushes you get free($6.29).The cashier kept saying, “That does not make sense.” Finally a nice casier came to customer service and said, “that is what the coupon says, that is what she gets.” Then it went through fine.
Teresa I have that problem too but the makeup companies do the same thing. Cover Girl I think had a coupon for free powder wyb foundation. Foundation is like $4 and powder is $10!
Allison for this deal you need to take the coupon with you. Also I prefer to give the gift card coupon first.
So I just did this deal too. It worked perfect for me as well! I did the same transaction as Natalja did.
However I am confused…is Target giving a $5.00 GC for every 2 scrubbing bubbles purchases? Or do you have to have the Target GC coupon from the 5/9 SS?
Yes, I bought 6 items and it worked like a charm. I gave my “free” coupon first, the max value was $6.10, the cashier wrote that on the coupon, but the register took off $6.29, then I handed three $1 MQ for the gel and then I gave the two $5 GC coupon. No beeps, no problems!
Hi I want to shared the Target has detergent Greenworks in cleareance for 4.8X dollars. I used 3 dollars off from the target coupon and 3 dollars from the manufactor coupon that was on your blog, if i remember correclty.
Dallas the coupon from 5/9 was for a $5 gift card wyb 3 items. Either toilet gel, refills, or the brushes.
i bought this last time BOGO and got my gift card target and submitted my rebate, i got an email that my rebate was mailed and i printed more coupons online for BOGO so i will be going back to get more.
I did this today without any problems. Had two gift card coupons and two B1G1 coupons plus 4 $1.00 off coupons.
So while I didn’t probably do the transaction exactly like above I still feel like I did well! I got all 6 things for $6.57 after gift cards. So just over $1.00 each.
I just got back from target…VERY frustrated. i have NEVER had a problem at target but tonight, they wouldn’t accept my “buy cleaning gel and get the starter kit free” coupon. The manager said bc the price on the coupon was $6.10 and the actual product was $6.29 that they couldn’t take it. I asked him if I could pay the difference and he said no…that I would have to wait for the item to go on sale. I’m very frustrated bc the computer also would not scan my window cleaner gift card coupon either…he even confirmed that the item I had was correct and that the coupon was valid, but bc the computer wouldn’t take it then he could not accept it. I will be calling coorperate on monday.
I tried to do this deal but Target would not take the Free Brush when you buy a cleaning gel coupon because of the gift card coupons. I ended up with so many over priced items. 🙁
Oh Vee I would take it back and ask for a refund. One thing you can do is print out the coupon policy online which clearly says one Target coupon and one manufacturer per item. Also I have found Target customer service to be very easy to call and they will set your store straight on the spot. You can always call when you get to the store and then go straight to customer service and ask for a refund for the value of the coupons with the customer service rep right on the phone with you.
Hang in there too. It gets easier- I promise!
Heather just like I told the other reader you can call them from the store too. Sometimes that is easier and personally I find it faster than messing around calling and trying to go back and fight with the store again. That manager is a turkey. They should have valued the coupon for $6.10 and you pay .19. That is how it works any where you go! I have never heard of refusing it because the item is priced higher! I would be frustrated too 🙁 I had Target customer service send me a $10 gift card when I complained so maybe they will do that for you too.
