This week CVS has a promotion where you can get the Avatar DVD for $4.99 when you spend $25 in select items. I posted a scenario HERE but Mommy of 3 Kiddos came up with another one.

{Deal Idea}
Buy (2) All at $3.50
Buy (2) Fig Newtons at $1
Buy (2) Wheat Thins at $1
Buy (1) Quilted Northern at $6.99
Buy (1) Lucky Charms at $2.44
Buy (2) Kix at $2.44
Buy Avatar $19.99

Total: $45.30
-$15 instant Avatar savings
-$.75/1 Kix HERE (use 2)
-$.55/1 Lucky Charms HERE (or buy any 2 cereals and use the $1/2 coupon)
-$1/1 Fig Newtons HERE (use 2)
-$1/1 Wheat Thins HERE (use 2)
-$1/1 2x All Laundry HERE (Use 2)
-$.50/1 Quilted Northern from 3/14 RP

The total before tax is $21.75 for all 10 items plus the movie (only about $1.98 each!)  If you happen to get a CVS coupon this is an even better deal.  The way I look at it is if you were already planning to spend $16 on the DVD- you might as well buy all this for basically $6.

My CVS is sold out of Avatars and will not get another shipment until (maybe) Friday. Rats!

I was so hoping to do this deal, the All link says there are no more coupons available for this campaign. Bummer!

The “magic coupon machine” printed me out a $5/40 coupon today! This would really help this deal!

does this all have to be done in the same transaction?

Goosemonkey- with CVS you can buy and your card will keep track for you. So you can split transactions. This one is tricky since the DVD is thrown in but I am pretty sure you can buy a little at one time and go back and buy the rest and then get the DVD whenever you get the remaining $25 in items. I am not 100% sure though so you might just ask.
