Target: Toy Story 1 & 2 Blu-Ray DVD Combo Packs $3.98 For Both with Movie Tickets

Devon over at Mama Cheaps came up with a great scenario to score Toy Story 1 & 2 (Blu-Ray) DVD Combo Packs Plus 2 Free Movie Tickets.Β

This is the current sale at Target:

  • Toy Story 1 Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack $22.99 (comes with free movie ticket, $8.50 value)
  • Toy Story 2 Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack $22.99 (comes with free movie ticket, $8.50 value)

Retail for both: $45.98 (plus two free tickets)

Here is the deal you can do:

  1. First, go here and Enter the UPC code from your old Toy Story DVD or VHS. You will then receive a $10 off coupon for each code you enter, good towards the purchase of a new Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack (for either movie). Enter 2 codes, print 2 $10 coupons.
  2. Then when you are at Target, have them price match against the current sale at Toys R Us: Which is both movies combo packs are on sale for $16.99/each. Bring the complete Toys R Us circular with you to Target.
  3. Then use your 2 $10 Coupons from step 1.

Here is a summary of the transaction:
Buy Toy Story 1 Blu Ray Combo Pack $22.99 $16.99 (w/ price match)
Buy Toy Story 2 Blu Ray Combo Pack $22.99 $16.99 (w/ price match)

-$10 Target Instant Savings wyb 2 (this is an instant savings at the register)
-(2)$10 Printable Coupon (from step 2 above)
Final Price: $3.98 for 2 Toy Story Movies Plus 2 Movie Tickets

NOTE: Β This deal will depend if your Target will allow the price matching so it’s really a YMMV deal.Β  Let us know if you were able to do the deal.

Here is Target’s Price Match policy if you would like to bring it with you.

(Thanks Devon!)

I picked mine up yesterday. It was nice seeing the 45.09 that I saved on the receipt!

I think the $16.99 price is after you buy 2 from Toys R Us. If you buy one they are $21.99. At Target they are 22.99 if you buy one and then $17.99 when you buy both. I bought both for 15.50ish so I think the Toys R Us ones would be 13.98 for both. Still a good deal. I could be wrong but when I look at the ad that is the impression I got.

They had these in stock tonight at Toys R Us, so I didn’t have to price match at Target. (I called ahead to make sure) Pretty good deal!

Yes Aubree they are $16.99 each when you buy 2 at Toys R Us. The Target deal is better because you get the $16.99 price for buying 2 and then there is also an additional $10 that comes off from Target.

Are there extra codes available to get the disney coupon or does everyone using it just already have old copies of the movies?

I went to Toys R Us yesterday and got the deal there and then I had to go to Target to get some things and had the ad so I decided for the price to go ahead and pick up another set. They made me go to the CS desk to price match and it took a few minutes but she finally got it in and gave me the 16.99 price and took my coupons, then the total was five something so I knew right away that it had deducted an extra ten bucks………..cool. Then some lady walked in the CS area and (now mind you I have already paid) the cashier has the ad and then ask her if she did it right ( I think the cheap price threw her off) and the other lady says no we can’t do that because it is a promotion (duh). I said you have the same promotion in your ad only your price is a bit higher, but if you were not sure about doing it then you should have probably ask prior to doing it and not after. So I handed her the receipt and the movies, and said she could just refund it and I would go to TRU. The other lady still telling her she could not do it, the cashier handed everything back over to me and said the computer took it so don’t worry about it. I said thanks and left with my two movies for less than 6 dollars. Took a few minutes but worth it for me because kiddos will have awesome easter baskets!!!!

is there a way to do a price match if you don’t have the ad? Can you print the Toys r Us price off the internet and bring that? Probably not, but thought I’d see if anyone has ever done that.

  8. Melissa says

    03/25/2010 at 8:32 AM

My target would not allow the price match because they said it is the Toys R Us version of their $10 discount.

  9. Charlene says

    03/25/2010 at 8:43 AM

Monica- the price match policy is pretty clear that you need the entire ad. Sorry πŸ™

My Target wouldn’t let me either. So it ended up being 13.98 for both with the tickets. Can’t complain about that though.

I just did it & it worked great—I had to buy 2 copies of Toystory (Toystory 2 was out of stock). I had planned on doing this twice at the register, so I had 2 sets of $10 off coupons.

I asked them to price match & showed them the ad. They told me that I had to go to Customer Service, and I did. I gave her the Toys R Us ad, told her that I was buying 2 combo packs (even though Both of them were Toystory)….and they needed to price match the $16.99 price. She did, and the register took off the extra $10, I used 2 coupons for $10 off Toystory (subtracted $20) making my cost $3.98 + $1.44 tax= $5.42 total for 2 copies of Bluray Combo Toystory!

2 Free Movie tickets (one in each DVD)…..but you can only enter the code for ONE of them per Disney Movie Rewards Account…..1 code from a Toystory Movie, 1 code from a Toystory 2 movie—-Regardless of how many movies you purchased. I opened an account in my hubby’s name & entered one of the codes into his account, and it worked fine.

I convinced them to do it but technically by their policy they don’t take off the $10 from their promo after doing the price match. I was pretty convincing as my 2 year kept throwing things on the floor and screaming. By the rules I’d say don’t waste your time trying the price match but if you do be prepared for a battle! I won that battle and got 4 movies for $11 total! I really just did it for the movie tix!

I am kicking myself for trying to be neat and clean, cause I threw my TRU ad away!!! Man, what a great deal!!! Never again, I am holding on to that ad flyer for the whole week until I get my hands on the next one!! I did got to Target though and got them for the $17.99 a piece with the $10.00 off coupon for each. So I still only paid $16.00 for both, but I wish I could have price matched at TRU. Live and learn, right ladies?!

i got both for $8.15. I had the ad and told the clerk it was listed at half off from that on the shelf. She gave it to me.

I got the deal today. After the cashier figured out the price match, he then refused to take my coupons. I asked for the corporate number and pulled out my phone and called them right there. The customer service person said something about going through the regular line and then coming back to the CS desk. I just handed my phone to the cashier. He seemed confused by what she said, so he just rang them up for me. Woohoo! Glad I stood my ground!

I have been trying to find the page to enter my UPC code for my old toy story, but every time I log in it brings me to a page that says follow these 4 steps, but it doesn’t show me where to go to follow the steps. Can some one guide me on the Disney rewards page to get the coupon? Thanks

Julie– are you entering the code in the orange box that says enter code? That should bring up the banner and you need to get the banner for TS 1 and TS 2 since there are different coupons. I had issues in one browser and switched to the other and it was perfect. I can’t recall now- I think I was in IE and FF was the ticket. You need to enter the code in the area under my account where you would enter rewards codes in. Don’t bother trying to click around on the banners as that gets you no where. Let me know if that helps-

I did the deal but had problems. They said they can’t match it because the price wasn’t clear. As in, it was “2 for” something and they don’t do that. I gave them grief and they finally allowed it. I asked if they would match a price for something if regular price was $3, but sale price was 2/$5. They said they do not price match those offers. Was the associate wrong? If so I’ll email corporate.

Walmart will price match this also…went to today and had NO problems! Looks like if you can price match AND get an extra $10 off at Target that is a better deal but seems too much like double dipping to take the discount from both stores. Great deals any way you look though!

I went to 3 Targets and neither would price match. Well one did, but for the $21.99 price. Also went to Best Buy and they priced matched but wouldn’t let me use the coupons. Bummer.
