I have seen a few comments coming through with awesome trips to Safeway so far!  This one reader Candice just did today and it is pretty awesome.

She bought 5 boxes of Fruit Snacks
One box of Chocolate Cheerios
2 boxes of Cocoa Krispies
2 boxes of Frosted Flakes
She used a $1.25/1 Chocolate Cheerios coupon
(2) $1.50/2 Kellogg’s cereal coupons
(2) .50/2 Fruit Snacks coupons

Plus (3) .50 e-coupons were deducted. Her total was $10.98. She used the $10 catalina from last week’s Charmin deal and paid .98 total out of pocket. Then she got $6.50 back in catalinas for next time! So roughly $4.50 is the net cost for 5 boxes of Fruit Snacks and 5 boxes of cereal or just .45 per item!

Make sure you are checking the comments HERE to see what other great transactions people have come up with!  And get the scoop on this hot promotion right HERE.

Can we mix & match the different prices to get to 5 items? Like can I buy 4 fruit snacks & 1 $2 cereal to get to 5 items to count for the promotion or do we have to buy 5 items only in one category?(Hope that makes sense!)

Kelly, you can mix and match on the $5 off 5 promo, but if you want to get the fruit snack 3.50 catalina, you should buy 5 fruit snacks. If you buy 4 boxes, you get $2.50 catalina, etc. HTH

My Safeway did not have the frosted flakes priced in the 5 off 5 promo. Can you confirm this at all? It looks like this reader bought FF, so I’m hoping I can too!!!

I just came from Safeway and did pretty darn good. Total before coupons was $110.00…..$15 after PLUS got a $10 catalina. So, basically five bucks! Wahoooo!

Wanted to let you know about a couple of things that you might want to check on at your store. The Yo-Plus yogurt vanilla flavor is on sale 2/$2.50. The tag said the sale is until July 4th!! So after $1.00 coupons, each 4-pack was only $0.25! Also, there was a ton of John Freida hair care on clearance. Those $2 and $3 coupons make for some great deals. I got a big can of hair spray for $0.24!!!

I had a question about the nut clusters. I have on my safeway card a e coupon for the nut clusters i think its maybe a dollar. Does it take off automatically for each if i buy like 5 of them or only $1 off one of them, havent used ecoupons not sure how it works if anyone could help that be great!

Today I bought 5 boxes of Kelloggs cereal and I didn’t get a catalina. Is there a cereal one and should I call catalina to get it?

Oh, I almost forgot! The hot cheese promo you mentioned here…http://myfrugaladventures.com/2010/02/safeway-hot-cheese-sale-next-week/ is STILL running! The signs said until the 16th!!

Angela~I believe the Kelloggs catalina was over yesterday (the 10th.) The post catalina is still running though so that combined with lots of Post Raisin bran and $1/2 coupons equals so very cheap cereal!

Thank you I will have to go back. So many good deals to be had at Safeway this week. I noticed Colgate is on sale for $1.00 when you buy 3 and then use $1.00 coupon in the little healthy book (it was at all the registers at my safeway)can only use 2 coupons. 3 toothpastes for $1.00 and they are all the large size or the kids as well.
