Safeway Frozen Food Scenarios

safeway frozen food

Here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling for the frozen food catalina promotion at Safeway and affiliate stores.  These prices should be valid through March 6th.  You CAN roll this catalina so you can buy $25 in items and then get the $10 catalina.  Turn back around and buy $25 in items again and use the $10 catalina to pay and get another one and so on…

The $25 needs to be BEFORE coupons so this is an excellent deal!  Also, the catalina is ONLY for your next frozen foods purchase!!!  It can be any frozen food and I remember last year I rolled my last catalina and bought the Safeway Bagged Chicken Breasts.

Idea #1:

Buy 2 Uncrustables at $2.50 each = $5
Buy 2 Yoplait Smoothies at $3 each= $11
Buy 2 El Monterey Burritos at $3 each= $17
Buy 1 Bertolli Frozen Entree at $6.99= $23.99
Buy 1 Green Giant Boxed Veggie at $2
Subtotal is $25.99

Then use the following coupons:
Use (2) $1 off Uncrustables coupons HERE
Use (2) $1.00/1 Yoplait from 2/7 GM
Use $1/2 El Monterey Burrito HERE (Thanks Katie and Bargain Mom!)
Use $1/1 Bertolli HERE
Use .50/1 Green Giant HERE
New Total: $19.49 and get a $10 catalina back!  So the net is $9.49 for 8 items and you can use that $10 catalina to pay for your next transaction!

Idea #2:

Buy 4 Michael Angelo’s Dinners at $2.99 each
Buy 1 Toaster Strudels at $2.50 each
Buy 1 Bertolli at $6.99
Buy 2 Green Giant at $2.00
Subtotal is $25.45

Use (2) Buy One Get One Free Michael Angelos HERE (must register)
Use $1/1 Toaster Strudel HERE
Use $1/1 Bertolli HERE
Use (2) .50/1 Green Giant HERE
Final Price: $16.47 and then get a $10 catalina back!! So if you use the catalina from your prior transaction you will only pay $6.47 and you get yet another catalina!

And I would love to hear your scenarios! I would love to post some of your shopping trips too if you want to snap a picture and email me your totals I will get them posted!

Be sure you grab the cellfire coupons as well to make for even better deals!!

Can you stack ecoupons (i.e. cellfire) with paper manufacturer coupons?

    Yes.

I had no idea that you could only tse the CAT on frozen food???

I just found out that Morningstar farms and Boca are included, so I’m getting a bunch of those with the recent coupons.

Carla it wasn’t in the circular and I didn’t realize it either until a reader pointed it out. I haven’t done this myself so I am not 100% sure but then I went back through last year and realized it was only on frozen foods. I remember doing about a million transactions and then I used the last cat to buy chicken.

I have a question. So I selected and loaded the ecoupons onto my card. I buy the products that I will use for the ecoupons. When I’m at the store the cash register, I don’t see the ecoupon discounts. Its also not showing up on my receipt. Cellfire, shortcuts, and P&G are not showing up with any discounts. I check back to my account and the ecoupons are still there. Any suggestions?

No I don’t have any idea. It should come off on your receipt. If it is not working and you are certain you:
    1. Registered your card properly with the correct phone numbers and everything
    2. Loaded them onto your card more than 1 hour ago

Than I would email one of the companies and see what is wrong. If none of the three companies work I suspect you didn’t enter your card information properly. For example if your club card is a home phone number and then you register the e-coupons under a cell phone number than it isn’t going to work.

what zip code are you using to get the uncrustables coupon, Im not seeing it in mine. Thanks for the help!

I think the uncrustables were yanked at the end of the month 🙁

I’m not seeing them either. Either it’s a zip code issue, or it’s already reached it’s limit??

Michelle – I have had that problem more than once, it’s a pain. And its usually when I’m planning on a lot of them coming off. You can either return and try again or e-mail the companies, they have been pretty easy to work with and they will send you a gift card with the coupons on it.

I can’t find the uncrustable either!

Have you successfully bought the Angelo items and received a Catalina? They didn’t have the March freezer logo on the price tags, and weren’t in the list of brands sponsoring the deal.

  14. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 3:25 PM

I printed it last night around 9pm or so. I am not seeing it now but I have posted this coupon numerous times so maybe you already have it tucked away somewhere.

  15. Charlene says

    03/02/2010 at 3:53 PM

No I haven’t tried it but I only used items that were featured in my ad just to be safe. The Michael Angelos are featured in the supplemental ad that runs 2/28-3-6 in my area. I posted a pic of it above.

I bought four family size Michale Angelos this morning at 6.99 each. =27.96 I used two B1G1 free family size -13.98 total 13.98. AND then I got a $10 cat to start rolling with the TP and more frozn food!! I checked the tags at my store first, and they were tagged with the little frozen symbol they’ve been using. SO I knew they were included.

I don’t mean to further muddy the waters on the e-coupons, but my Safeway card is under my home phone, and my cellfire is under my cell phone. I’ve never had a problem, regardless of whether I swipe my Safeway card or enter my phone number. I thought it was strictly tied to your actual club card number. I wonder if e-coupons would be a good topic for one of your vlogs? We definitely seem to have questions about them!

Also, thanks a million for the TP deal at Safeway today, what a great way to get started on the 10 dollar cats! I have never been so excited about a deal!

I also agree that you should do a post on cellfire, shortcuts, and p&g ecoupons. if your club card is a home phone number and then you register the e-coupons under a cell phone number, will it work at the store? My safeway card is under my home phone number. At cellfire, I tried registering my home phone number, but they will only accept the mobile phone number.

Just did this deal with the following scenario:

4 single serve Michael Angelo Italian entrees $2.99 each
    2 Freschetta pizzas $4.99 each
2 Green Giant boxed veggies $1.69 each
    Total was $25.32

    Used following coupons:
    2 BOGO Micheal Angelo -$5.98
    2 $1 off Freschetta -$2.00
1 $.50/2 Green Giant frozen boxed veggies
    1 $.50 Green Giant boxed veggies e-coupon

Brought my total down to $16.34 so $6.34 net for all of this and I plan on going back and rolling the deal a few more times between tomorrow and Tuesday with more coupons that I got DH to print for me at work. 🙂
