The $10 is good for your next frozen food purchase? So, I can’t use it to buy anything in the store then? Just want to be sure… thanks!

Cali- I am not 100% sure on this because I have not seen the actual cat. I remember it was that way last year and a reader commented that already did a transaction that it said frozen foods only. The chicken is a sweet deal this week though. So you can roll the cat to buy the chicken. It is ANY frozen food not just the participating stuff.

Maybe if any other readers have the actual catalinas they can confirm what it says?

Where do you find the coupon for the chicken on the Safeway website? I always have trouble finding them and when you click on the link it just takes you to their website.

    Thanks

Jamie, I see it under Safeway.com, then coupons with the green logo on the homepage in the center. Then on the right it says get coupons. It shows right up for me or you can click on category on the left side and they have a Safeway coupon category. There are 7 couposn right now- the others are all from coupons.com which I post about every day.

Thanks…found it. I kept being redirected to the online ordering website for safeway.

So I just got back from doing 3 transactions at Safeway, 2 of which were for the frozen food deals. On my 3rd transaction, which was not frozen foods, I just handed her the 10.00 Cat from the previous frozen food deal and it worked fine. No beep or anything. I didn’t even see the “frozen food only” print, so it must be realllly small. BTW, Both of my transactions worked like a charm. No problems at all, yay!

I totally followed your directions to get to the loadable coupons, Charlene. But when I click “load to card” nothing happens…

I loved your matchups. They worked perfect. Please help with more matchups if you can. I will tell all my friends on facebook about your blog. I just started following you. I appreciate all the hard work you put in for those matchups. Thank you so much.

Wow…I’ve never had such a HORRID time at Safeway with a promotion!!! I spent 5 minutes in line fighting with the cashier about the Michaelangelo’s BOGO coupon. It beeped at her…matched what the coupon said, and she insisted that she wouldn’t take it because it was a “copy” of a coupon. I said no, it’s an INTERNET coupon. I had to have her flag down a Manager because she wouldn’t take the coupon. The Manager let the coupon go through. THEN…my catalina wouldn’t print. So, I went to the Customer Service desk and wasted another 30 minutes while the person there insisted that it was $25 that had to be spent AFTER coupons. She got really snotty about it. I asked to speak to a Manager. She never did get one to come and talk to me. She sat on hold with their “Help Desk” at 6 pm on a Sunday night for 20 minutes before finally getting someone to tell her the same thing. The ad no where states that it’s $25 after coupons. I insisted that I wanted the $10 catalina or I wanted ALL of my coupons back and I wanted a refund on the items. I think I really pissed her off at this point. She went back to the same Manager that she’d talked to (different Manager than the first one that I did actually talk to about the coupon issue) and they finally gave me a $10 gift card. I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t work as it took her about 5 tries to “load” the card. I was so utterly frustrated at this store that if I had another Safeway close to me I would never go back to this one. I can’t believe how rude some people are. The woman that sat on hold for 20 minutes just let the line grow behind me while several people walked away giving her and me dirty looks. I felt really bad, but there was not anything I could do. 🙁

Yuck. We’ve all been there before Trisha. You can call catalina marketing as well to get them to mail you your cat. You just need the receipt information.

Does the Sargento coupon from 1/3 work with the shredded cheese? The coupon says for snack cheese and pictures string cheese.

  13. Charlene says

    03/08/2010 at 10:41 AM

Well the string cheese I bought was Precious which is Sorrento not Sargento. I didn’t use any coupons with my purchase because we bought the sliced. I figure no matter what $1.49 is a good price.

  14. Maria says

    03/08/2010 at 11:36 AM

I usually look for managers when I am picking a line because they never have a problem putting stuff through when it beeps. My cat says $10 off your next frozen food purchase.

  15. Sherrie says

    03/11/2010 at 11:44 AM

My Catalina would not print for the Cashier (they said after coupons too) so I went along with him and added another Pizza and wala the $10 coupon printed. I just figured this was how it had to be…now I am wondering??

  16. Charlene says

    03/11/2010 at 12:09 PM

Sherrie it shouldn’t be the case. Is there any chance you could have been even a penny under the $25 before coupons?

  17. SavinginLA says

    03/11/2010 at 7:26 PM

I can confirm that the amount of 25 should be before coupons. I was able to use coupons and bring the total down and the catalina printed. But I made sure to pick up only items that had the tag for the frozen food promo and the total before coupons was a little over 25$.

  18. SavinginLA says

    03/12/2010 at 7:55 PM

    My transaction for today
    WW entrees – 10 x 2.5 = 25.00$
    minus
    2$ off Vons Q on 4 – 2 x 2.0 = 4.00$
    3$ off WW MQ WYB 10 – 1 x 3.0 = 3.00$
    Free Bfast item – 1 x 3.0 = 3.00$
    Free flatbread – 1 x 3.0 = 3.00$
    10$ from prev trans – 1 x 10.0= 10.00$

Paid 2$ and received one more catalina for 10$
