Frugal Idea for Kid’s Snacks

03/27/2010

Share

freezer popsI thought this was a really clever idea that I saw posted a few weeks ago on Centsible Sawyer.  She ordered freezer pop molds from Amazon and used them for her baby to relive teething!

I thought it was so smart and I have a little one that is teething too!  PLUS it gets pretty toasty in California in the summer and my toddler loves popsicles.  I always have extra fruit in the freezer and I was thinking this would be a great way to not only control what she is eating but also very cost effective as I can use up all our extra fruit instead of throwing it away.

On top of that I seem to be finding incredible deals on juice constantly now- we have quite a few bottles of Juicy Juice, V-8 and Mott’s and my little one almost never gets juice to drink.  So finally a clever idea to use up the free and cheap juice I have on hand!

I ordered the Jewel Pop molds and I have to say they are the perfect size for little fingers but they did not hold up well.  They actually broke since the plastic is super hard.  I would recommend looking at some of the other molds instead but we did puree bananas and made little popsicles really fast.  I also tried Juicy Juice and it turned out perfectly!

You can see several different molds HERE if you want to try this as well!

Hi From Southern California!

MFA at disney

We are down in Southern California having a great time at Disneyland!  I thought I would introduce you to the MFA Team- that would be my two assistants that help to make sure MFA runs smoothly.  Maya on the left is in charge of editing- she also handles spell check for me and has been known to go into long tangents on Skype.

Addy on the right is my tech adviser and personal assistant.  She handles lots of the day to day administrative details- such as checking the mail and has been known to put it all right back in the mailbox!  She runs a very efficient ship.

That is my husband as well who is responsible for dishes and occasionally stopping into stores to double check prices for me.

So in case you have ever wondered who the real brains are behind My Frugal Adventures there you have it- the complete team.

Thanks for your patience the past few days since I have been a little bit off my normal schedule while we enjoy our vacation.  I look forward to getting back on track early next week!

Pampers Diapers Clearance

03/27/2010

Share

pampers cruisersI keep hearing about people spotting Pampers diapers on clearance at various stores.  It seems to me they are moving away from the old Cruisers diapers and into the new Dry Max diapers so marking the old packages down makes perfect sense.

I would keep an eye out at all the stores you frequent and see if you get lucky!  I haven’t heard this directly from Pampers so it is just my theory but if you spot a sale than let us know in the comments where you found them!

There are coupons available in the 2/21 P&G, 2/7 P&G,  and 3/14 RP.
